We are looking for an engineer, physicist or applied mathematician to support satellite geodesy research, algorithm/software development, and operational mission support for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center missions. Candidate will support satellite geodesy research, algorithm/software development, and operational mission science planning. Candidate must have knowledge of Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) systems, including data processing procedures required for use in orbit determination solutions, ability to troubleshoot existing infrastructure software tools, provide quality assurance and metrics based upon station statistics and other output products. Candidate must be highly motivated and possess great time management skills to work simultaneously on multiple missions.
Required Skills/Qualifications
BS in engineering, physics, mathematics and related STEM field
Knowledge of orbital mechanics and satellite geodesy
MATLAB, Python, Perl, UNIX Shell Scripting programming experience
Ability to communicate with customers and team members, both verbally and written
Ability to work independently and on small, fast-paced, highly motivated teams
Good judgment and relationship management
Ability to track detailed assignments and ensure timely delivery
Must be authorized to work in the United States of America
