We are hiring a Vice President Development, School Engagement in Dallas, TX. This position plans, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates all Youth Market related projects and activities throughout the assigned territory. Provides leadership and training to a team of staff and volunteers. Guarantees effective and efficient utilization of resources through a coordinated marketing approach. Supervises functionally aligned directors and managers servicing the Dallas area, East TX, and the state of Arkansas. This position works in a fast-paced environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. This position will be responsible for a current fundraising goal of greater than $3.5 million.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain team revenue targets.

The candidate must live within the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This is a remote position and will spend majority of time traveling within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Accept final responsibility for overall management, planning and development of Youth Market activities in assigned region. Guide and lead team to achieve goals. This will include traveling with directors in the field.

  • Accountable for hiring, directing, training, evaluating, and terminating staff under supervision.

  • Maintain the expense budget for your assigned region and the overall regional product budget for Youth Market activities.

  • Participate in the planning and coordination of region-wide Youth Market conferences, strategic planning, advocacy initiatives, and goal development activities.

  • Accept final responsibility to plan, build and implement a timeline for all Youth Market activities and team goals.

  • Work with the Regional Vice President of Development to reach National performance benchmarks, using identified Best Practices.

  • Coordinates, plans and implements activities and resources necessary to achieve Youth Market territory fundraising goal, with a focus on new business development.

  • Provides vision and strategy through best practices for Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge in school districts with high level health education and fundraising potential.

  • Responsible for Kids Heart Challenge event volunteer and participant recruitment and engagement, training, and management activities to reach income goals.

  • Key internal collaborator with accounts and volunteers across market and Board of Directors and opportunities to join national leadership taskforce, around emerging strategies.

  • Accurate data entry into relevant databases to ensure reporting and campaign progress are tracked in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that divisions and activities function within the parameters of American Heart Association and regional policies.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.

  • 2+ years of experience in a management capacity.

  • University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Leadership and management skills, demonstrated by the ability to coordinate, plan, implement and evaluate.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze and forecast budgets and other numerical data.

  • Demonstrated community organization skills with the ability to recruit, train and lead volunteers efficiently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to work with all social strata, occupations, and a diverse group of backgrounds.

  • Ability to supervise clerical and field sales staff which includes daily local business travel; ride-a-longs with staff in their defined territories.

  • Willingness and ability to travel in the territories as needed. From daily travel in the DFW area, to overnight travel in the Arkansas and East Texas territories. Must be available to travel more for short periods of time if needed by the business unit, for example in the event of a staff vacancy.

  • Presentation skills for small and large groups.

  • Ability to work as part of an integrated team.

  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
