Duties : Responsible for defining, driving and managing the product strategy, roadmap, and product lifecycle and product release for Cloud Network and Security, Storage, Computer and Storage virtualization, Infrastructure automation and governance to define the next generation of industry-leading hybrid cloud platform product line, including gathering requirements, crafting technical and functional specifications, coordinating development efforts through to implementation and subsequent support. Drive the product direction and new initiatives around software appliances, streamlined delivery of software-defined data center components to on premise and public clouds, and explore solutions for Hyper-Converged Infrastructure market for cloud management products. Analyze market opportunities and work closely with OEM partners, customers, Product Marketing, Sales, Support and cross-functional Program Managers, User Experience designers and engineering teams to create product requirement documents, write and review technical specifications. Work with finance and leadership on business justifications and train the sales and support prior to product release. Align organizational approach to partner needs, create pricing, packaging and positioning that will ensure success of VMwares products in their portfolio and maximize the revenue for both companies. Perform competitive analysis, define and communicate key VMware advantages, and create the whole spectrum of sales tools and collateral to communicate the value proposition of products and solutions to customers and partners.
Requirements : Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management, Information Technology, or a related technical/quantitative field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or related position. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management, Information Technology, or a related technical/quantitative field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or related position.
Employer requires at least six (6) of the following skills gained through industry experience:
Create product specifications, product pricing and performing competitive analysis or market research;
Product management in a Network or Cloud Infrastructure environment delivering products to market;
Product marketing for enterprise software technology;
Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, Microsoft Azure, and/or OpenStack;
Manage SaaS delivery;
User Experience (UX) design;
Sales enablement and customer presentations and demonstrations.
Telecommuting permitted work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the VMware office in Palo Alto, CA. Multiple Openings. Travel required 20% of the time.
