We need your help! We're building a brand new, green field suite of services to handle Microsoft-scale traffic across the world and need senior software engineers that are looking to use modern technologies like .NET 6, AKS, and anything Azure to help us achieve this mission!

As an engineer on our team, you'll deliver and enhance our mega-scale commerce platform, provide world-class, lightning-fast, results to our consumer and commercial customers at scale, and help us in our continued mission to be more microservice-oriented, asynchronous, and modular.

Responsibilities

This is an extremely important position that has direct impact to Microsoft's cloud revenue and customers' satisfaction. You will be empowered to envision, design, code, ship and analyze Microsoft's key financial platform features, with as much or as little guidance as you need. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people across the company, giving you wide exposure and a broad technical surface area.

  • Contribute to and maintain excellent design and development processes.

  • Design with focus on reliability and resiliency.

  • Adopt relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes from Microsoft and the industry.

  • Support and influence the team culture of being customer centric and continuously improving.

  • Champion engineering practices that ensure safe and fast-paced releases for our services.

  • Support a learning environment by influencing and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years software development shipping customer-facing products or online services

  • Extensive experience developing cloud, web, or containerized applications

  • Excellent C++, C# or Java coding skills, with a degree in Computer Science

  • Demonstrated skills owning feature and development projects

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Desire for continual technical and personal improvement

  • Ability to understand and refactor unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications

Preferred:

  • Experience building Kubernetes-based services is a plus

  • Proven framework level API design skills is a plus

  • Experience converting existing codebases to .Net Core

  • Familiarity with Commerce is a plus
