SERCO supports the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) and is looking for analytical and project management support. You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer to deliver effective management plans, authoritative analysis, and -speed to decision- for very senior leaders. This is a new opportunity, so you will not be picking up someone else's work, but you will be integrating into an established team of PMPs. You will be providing PMP consulting services and project management support for Navy Medicine Headquarters Program Managers in process improvement projects.
In the Project/program manager role, you will:
Provide Project management for the BUMED Portfolio Management Support Office (PMsO) across all life cycle phases of multiple projects. Project support for Fleet and Marine Corps related efforts in various organizations in the Navy Medicine enterprise
Provide application of PMBOK Project Management practices across all life cycle phases of projects to include; performance reporting and adoption of Knowledge Proliferation and Methodology
Be expected to support management of 3-5 projects simultaneously with each project lasting 3-18 months
Provide consulting and project management support as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) principles for Navy Medicine Project Leaders
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A DoD Secret Clearance
Eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC) supported by background investigation
A Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or a Masters Degree in Project Management may be substituted for a PMP
Working knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps operational environments
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring & controlling, and project closure
Competence with the MS Office 365 suite of applications
Competence with MS Project
Desired qualifications include:
Minimum of three years of experience in managing projects (post PMP certification)
Navy Medicine, Defense Health Agency, or other federal health-care experience
Navy and/or Marine Corps staff experience
Familiarity with Max.gov, SharePoint, and SPIDR
Familiarity with the PPBE process
Competence with MS Teams
Due to the current pandemic situation, this position is working remotely. However, once the pandemic is lifted, you will be required to work on-site at the Navy Medical Support Command Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas on occasion.
