Waste Connections is currently looking for an Operations Supervisor at Novak Sanitary Services, located in Sioux Falls, SD.

Position Summary
Reporting to the District Manager, the Operations Supervisor will monitor all aspects of their assigned line of business to achieve key safety, service and productivity metrics. The supervisor will observe and coach staff (aprox 25 Drivers) to ensure that they provide excellent safe efficient service at each customer site. Each supervisor will resolve customer complaints and follow up to ensure it stays resolved. The Supervisor will monitor breakdowns, vehicle damage and customer service delivery. The Supervisor will respond to spills in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
You must monitor the transportation budget to ensure funds are properly utilized and implement organizational objectives as dictated by management. Daily tasks include supervising employee performance, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all vehicles in top working order. You will manage databases that detail transport activities, financial accounting, employee schedules and personnel records. Management also relies on you for hiring and firing recommendations, training staff in department policies and procedures, and sharing information about new laws or technological advances. In addition, you must often serve as a point of contact for customers, building relationships and addressing complaints.

Good communication skills to uncover issues seek win/win solutions and effectively deal with customers both internal and external.
Must be able to defuse a situation and deal with upset customers effectively and professionally.

Familiarity with routing, logistics or industry terminology is an asset
