The Power Supply Design Engineer will be responsible for the specification, design, analysis and testing of power and analog circuits for avionics and spaceborne applications.
Essential Functions:
Design, test, and troubleshoot power and analog circuits; based upon provided specifications, or previously designed circuit architecture.
Perform schematic entry, simulation, and analysis of power and analog circuits.
Perform preliminary component placement and routing of critical signals within PWB layout tool for power and analog circuits.
Conduct worst-case analysis on power and analog circuits.
Complete performance specifications.
Produce technical documentation, including review materials for customers, performance requirements, test plans, and analysis reports.
Support the project team by participating and presenting material in technical reviews, Customer briefs and milestone events
Interface with multi-disciplinary teams to execute design objectives.
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and a minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree with 4 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Minimum 2 years experience in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of power and analog circuits.
Minimum 2 years experience with PWB layout for power and analog circuits.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with SPICE, MathCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Allegro and MentorGraphics tools.
Practical hands-on experience, including AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion architectures with various topologies (isolated and non-isolated) that meet the power and EMI requirements described under MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160.
Experience performing Worst Case analysis.
H-infinity controls knowledge.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
