ITW Appliance Components serves all the major Appliance OEM in the US, Europe, Asia, and Mexico and their tier suppliers. This global division manufactures mechanical, electromechanical and electrical components and assemblies with a variety of manufacturing processes. We have locations in the US, China, Mexico, the UK, Slovenia, New Zealand, Bulgaria and Italy. ITW Industrial Components is a separate Business Unit within the ITW Appliance Division focused on industrial customers and applications.

Support of the following engineering functions: mechanical, manufacturing, and electrical. Exposure to and project participation in many functional areas. Expand and enhance basic knowledge in conjunction with academic subjects of study. Interact with supervisors, project leaders, engineers, technicians, and those with skilled trades on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities and Authority:

Engineering stack up analysis for operating characteristics (60%)

  • Create SolidWorks master model for basic switch(es) to perform tolerance analyses and theoretically calculate how changing components impact the operating characteristics.

  • Requirement: build one basic switch model, based on proficiency more complex models maybe added

  • Multiple plant locations: exposure to Juarez manufacturing needs as well as test data

  • Develop an excel tolerance analysis template to easily input critical component dimensions and calculate effect on operating characteristics

Production build books for Sealed Switches (40%)

  • Gain exposure to a manufacturing cell and production needs

  • Generate detailed production build books for various product families and special processes based on existing template

  • Interact with the quality team for AS9100 compliance

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechnical Engineering degree

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or Creo/PTC) & MS Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Good Communication skills both written and oral

  • Solid mechanical aptitude

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills

  • Team player and self-motivator
