SAIC is seeking a qualified Security Control Assessor Representative (SCAR) for a new and exciting program supporting the Air Force. This is a hybrid-remote position based out of the Pentagon, Washington DC.

(Hybrid-Remote indicates a mix of "onsite" and "virtual" job location)

Purpose: Provide cybersecurity-Security Control Assessor Representative (SCAR) support to the Security Control Assessor, Functional Data Officer, and Authorizing Official for Air Force Weather Systems.

Job Description:

  • Provide cybersecurity and Security Controller Assessor Representative (SCAR) support to AF/A3W. Ensure interoperability across the operations, test, and experimentation community.

  • Support is required to coordinate and obtain data, information, and models from authoritative sources to permit compliance with cybersecurity requirements under the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • HAF/A3W requires cybersecurity support to develop weather system security control assessments and enable the approval of authorities to operate (ATOs) for systems that collect and report weather data and information.

Qualifications

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II certified (i.e. CAP, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC).

  • Expert knowledge of DoD 8510.01, AFI 17-101, and the NIST 800 series publications on Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Ability to identify research, characterize, and document security weaknesses related to operating systems, software applications, firmware, network hardware components, as well as network architecture design and documented policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to present briefings to senior level DoD officials in both prepared briefings and/or in ad hoc discussions.

  • Extensive knowledge of network protocols, communications systems, and architectures.

  • Recent management experience working Cyber Security/Information Assurance and IT Standards issues.

  • Detailed knowledge of the DoD CIO enterprise cloud infrastructure strategy and sustainment of cloud services.

  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers and FEDRAMP approved services.

  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps and the DevSecOps Reference Architecture.

  • Working knowledge of the operational practices of the Modeling & Simulation Community to support Training & Testing.

  • Must be a US Citizen and actively possess a Secret security clearance.

  • Bachelor's and nine (9), Masters and seven (7); or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Program management experience desired with demonstrated experience with leading program teams, testing, and integration.

  • Recent experience developing strategic solutions to issues associated with integration of two or more networks.

  • Working knowledge of the DoD Requirements Process (JCIDS)/Acquisition/PPBE.

  • Technical knowledge of Space and Cyber capabilities.

  • TS SCI Security Clearance
