Job Description

HII-TSD is currently seeking a Computer Network & Information Specialist Trainer to work in San Diego, CA in support of Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC). NIWC Pacific Code 43120 Logistics and Training Branch is responsible for providing training services to tactical afloat shipboard, ashore and submarine Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Manpower, Logistics and Business systems. This effort is to provide training support to Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC), Naval Information Warfare Center, Atlantic (NIWC LANT), Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWARSYSCOM), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in support of Naval Information Warfare (NAVWAR) systems and products integrated on their platforms.

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the individual assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required within this position. Provide assessment, documentation, and training research/input during training technology conferences, meetings, working groups, and/or Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Conduct research on issues related to specifications, design, development and distribution of Traditional Media, Computer Aided Instruction, Computer Based Training (CBT), Web Based Training, HTML, XML, Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) and other emerging technologies surrounding training systems. Analyze and provide recommendations on the designated technology application to technical training requirements. Develop alternative approaches to existing and proposed training concepts utilizing technology solutions; analyze alternatives for feasibility and affordability; recommend training solutions with implementation plan; develop and/or recommend policy; and provide integration strategies for initiatives. This support shall include generating and submitting Technical Reports on analysis, recommendations of training requirements, and assessments.

Provide technical, analytical, and developmental services support on the following but not limited to; C4ISR systems (e.g. Automated Digital Network System (ADNS), Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M), Computer Network Defense (CND)), training systems (e.g. Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE), Network Security Vulnerability Technician (NSVT)), support equipment, and Joint systems (e.g. Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) and Foreign Military systems).

Design and/or develop new or updated curricula; to include but not limited to: Interactive Courseware (ICW) / Computer Based Training (CBT), Job Performance Aids and Instructor Led Training (ILT). Conduct Post Installation Training (PIT) events on various fielded C4ISR systems.

Present new/revised curriculum with "pilot" convening; incorporate recommended, (Government) approved revisions/changes from "pilot" convening; distribute and/or install training material and equipment

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs and administers computer applications training programs to train all levels of end-users. Develops and modifies training materials, user manuals, and end-user tests. Conducts training classes and develops criteria for evaluating training effectiveness. Keeps abreast of information technology training needs, trends, methods, new materials, and techniques. Coordinates communication of information technology changes to the business (i.e., upgrades, system enhancements, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of experience, of which at least 1 year must be specialized experience in developing training material and providing training in formal classroom settings, workshops and seminars. Completed Navy Instructor certification (NEC 9502) or equivalent industry or service certification.

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
