The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Talent Strategy and Programs Senior to primarily focus on Talent Strategy and Programs. Formulates Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) strategy recommendations based on data-driven insights.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

The Senior position identifies opportunities for DE&I-related employee and business programs. Responsible for program development for DE&I initiatives related to stakeholder engagement, strategic partnerships, and/or community outreach.

Accountable for developing and coordinating new programs and supports the maintenance of existing programs that align with enterprise DE&I strategy. Leads planning for highly complex programs including problem definition, evaluation of requirements, design, testing, and implementation of business processes. Leads development from launch through maturation into target strategic markets.

Provides leadership, coordination, and consultation to ensure delivery of strategic DE&I initiatives across the enterprise. Additionally, provides support for programs that engage USAA members (customers) in ways that reflect their unique needs along with supporting activities and strategies that promote and advocate for diversity and equity within communities.

What you'll do:

  • Develops and implements enterprise DE&I education, training and communication programs and messaging, supporting a consistent, horizontal approach.

  • Collaborates with peer partners in design of course content for DE&I presentations, training and learning modules.

  • Works collaboratively with peers to identify areas for improvement and associated corrective action or intervention strategies.

  • Provides CoSA/enterprise DEI consultation, advice, and solutions to CoSA leadership, CoSA DEI working groups regarding Employee Resource Groups, community events and investments, DEI policy developments, responses, and communications.

  • Leads external DE&I partnerships (government agencies and Diversity/AAP organizations) and vendors to include acting as a liaison for DE&I branding and all other DE&I communications.

  • Provides enterprise consultation, training and guidance at all levels regarding DE&I, in collaboration with key partners in HR to include affirmative action and EEO Compliance teams, to drive and support positive impact to the business.

  • Researches, analyzes, and makes recommendations for DE&I and standard methodologies including development of implementation strategies, business plans, or programs.

  • Coordinates and runs internal and external diversity event and cultural observances.

  • Provides consultation on inclusive leadership behaviors to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging DE&I

  • Prepares DE&I reports and performs data analysis to see opportunities and propose solutions.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) experience in one or more human resource disciplines or general DE&I business consulting/analysis experience

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing training programs.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting large scale programs/projects.

  • Experience in DE&I related activities.

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the DE&I function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products.

  • Demonstrated discernment in the areas of the DE&I industry practices and emerging trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels within the assigned CoSA or functions and/or cross-CoSA

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across various levels of an organization.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience managing talent strategy, community partner relationships, and or DEI programs.

  • Experience designing and implementing Hiring Programs through partnerships.

  • Experience and comfort engaging with C-SUITE executives and creating strategies.

  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to anticipate emerging requirements, identifying solutions and recommend the best course of action.

  • Proven ability implementing business-specific DE&I strategies and managing broad enterprise-wide DEI programs.

  • Knowledge of best practices on inclusive leadership behaviors.

  • Expert knowledge of project management and/ change management disciplines.

  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time locally and across USAA locations.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $86,520 - $155,710 . Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
