Job Description
Defines, designs and implements continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across organization. Defines improvement projects aligned with business strategies. Analyzes improvement programs and potential results. Facilitates and coaches improvement teams. Establishes and maintains performance metrics to measure program success. Installs process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications and rewards. May have six-sigma certification.
Leads and implements continuous improvement, lean, and 5S initiatives which improve cost, quality, schedule, and/or safety for AOR.
Leads projects and teams with minimal oversight and supports the greater Columbia program team.
Determines areas for improvement within AOR based on analysis, interviews, personal experience, and knowledge of outside AOR processes, tools, and equipment.
Leads facility, equipment, fixturing, and tooling acquisition and implementation/utilization efforts.
Assists with development of AOR strategic direction.
Communicates daily with customers concerning improvement ideas, project progress, and priorities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience. Master's Degree and 8 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word); Microsoft Access and Visio, VBA, SharePoint, Power BI, and SAP experience a plus.
Bachelor's Degree ior Apprentice School Graduate with significant background in deck plate process knowledge.
Six Sigma or Lean Certification
Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement projects
Strong communication skills to lead project teams and facilitate events
