Vogtle 3&4 Project ECP Supervisor

Job Summary

This position is responsible for setting standards and providing daily work direction for the Vogtle 3&4 Project Employee Concerns Program (ECP) staff with primary focus being on concerns related to construction activities. In addition, this position is responsible for monitoring work, providing training, and onboarding of new ECP personnel.

Scope of Work

The Vogtle 3&4 Project Employee Concerns Program (ECP) serves as an alternate process to independently review issues reported by workers. The Project ECP also promotes nuclear safety culture, Safety Conscious Work Environment, and other activities to encourage ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law and regulations. The Project ECP an organization available for the project personnel to raise concerns confidentially. The Project ECP supports the various onsite organizations of several thousand employees. The ECP organization is independent from the site line management and is responsible for a broad range of activities are associated with regulatory requirements and expectations. The ECP organization engages in unique and demanding activities that are different than other programs within the industry. The complexities associated with construction activities and the volume of issues raised to the Project ECP requires significant level of supervision.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures the company's concerns programs are reasonably designed to investigate issues reported by employees and contractors on misconduct and otherwise promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law.

  • Partner with the Consortium/Alliance Nuclear Employee Concerns Program to ensure that the Consortium/Alliance is fulfilling the obligations laid out by the contract and NEI 97-05.

  • Provides leadership, daily work direction, development, monitoring and maintenance of the concerns programs for Southern Nuclear Operating Company.

  • Manage and give daily work direction to the site coordinators and investigate corporate concerns and ensure reports are thorough; KPI metrics are met and general leadership of the concerns program.

  • Providing periodic updates of coordinator status, trends and metrics to the Compliance & Concerns Director and executive management and interface with legal counsel, Licensing and/or HR on significant concerns program matters.

  • Lead and assign investigations on complex cases, evaluating appropriate course of action and approving investigative plans, reviewing and approving investigative reports.

  • Review entries in the Project Case Management System, Trending Access database, and Corrective Action Tracking.

  • Ensure the Project ECP is reasonably designed/staffed to intake issues reported by employees and contractors on misconduct and otherwise promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law.

  • Provide daily work direction, development, monitoring and maintenance of the concerns programs for the Project ECP organization.

  • Provide daily work direction to the site concerns team and ensure reports are thorough; KPI metrics are met and general leadership of the concerns program.

  • Provide periodic updates of coordinator case status, trends and metrics to the Project ECP Manager and Richmond County Construction (RCC) and Bechtel executive management.

  • Screen complex cases related to construction activities and evaluate appropriate course of action.

  • Engage legal support and regulatory support as needed.

  • Assist in the development of ECP communication plans to include annual strategic and tactical messaging.

  • Coordinate logistics to support external investigations.

  • Engage and educate leaders and workers site-wide about the ECP;

  • Ensure compliance with site-wide proactive measures to maintain SCWE.

  • Create, implement, and manage visibility efforts site-wide to familiarize workers and their leadership with ECP.

Job Responsibilities

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field (such as Human Resources, Pre-Law, Business etc.)is required. Master's degree or certifications in related field desired if no law degree. - Preferred

Job Requirements (Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • Investigation experience (5 years) - Preferred- scoping of an investigation, investigation techniques (interviewing, information gathering, fact determination, etc.), and report writing.

  • Supervisory experience (5 years) - Preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required, Highest degree of confidentiality and integrity is required.

  • Experience providing senior management/executive level communications support.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, with a particular emphasis on attention to detail, ability to write concisely and clearly for a variety of audiences and vehicles with minimal editing.

  • Collaborative team player with strong listening, creative thinking, analytical, organizational, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and negotiating skills with a demonstrated ability to work and influence effectively throughout the organization.

  • Nuclear Experience (3 years)- Preferred.

  • Vogtle 3&4 Construction Experience (2-years) - Strongly Preferred
