Job Summary

There is one position which will be filled at the Senior or Mid-level Business Process Analyst commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities

Responsible for analyzing and making recommendations for changes to internal processes, standards, and specifications in order to create more efficient and economical design practices and processes for substations at Dominion Energy. Assist on multiple concurrent projects to identify and document the major business processes associated with project execution and substation design. Conduct benchmarking and best practice analysis of Substation Engineering's project execution processes against both industry and non-industry processes. Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes within Substation Engineering without jeopardizing project production, operational reliability, or safety. Develop business cases to support new technology and design innovation projects, and then monitor the progress associated with the implementation of recommended changes for regular assessment by group leader(s) and technical teams. Apply process modeling tools, process improvement methodology, benchmarking, project management, and change management to standard development projects.

Senior Business Process Analyst: Develop and manage business tools and process that help drive and measure standard development and project execution support efforts. Coordinate vendor activities in support of various program objectives, including but not limited to: leading technical teams, logistically setting up discovery workshops, configuration workshops, and training sessions. Coordinate and/or lead team activities and working group meetings, in support of group objectives (technical and business process development/refinement) Update documentation, by promptly updating shared documents on websites, and hard-copies carried by stakeholders. Coordinate the proper display of information in work directories, and on web pages Use Microsoft Office Programs to create spreadsheets, develop written documents, and develop graphics for presentations using PowerPoint Work with stakeholders (internal and external) to help maintain project schedules using visual display tools, such as Microsoft Project and SharePoint. Assist management and work leader(s) in interfacing with partner groups. Coordinate discussions with IT for the development of new software and business support tools

Mid-level Business Process Analyst: Develop and support the use of business tools and process that help drive and measure standard development and project execution support efforts. Senior Business Process Analyst: 5+ years of directly related experience

Mid-level Business Process Analyst: 3+ years of directly related experience

*Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications

Senior Business Process Analyst:

  • Experience leading projects driving new software deployments and project management tools

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively lead and facilitate multiple project teams simultaneously

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making, along with knowledge of when to get others involved

  • Proficient in application of business process improvement methodologies, benchmarking, and change management practices

  • Experience with SharePoint, business workflow tools, and Microsoft Office tools

  • Experience applying project management principles to lead new initiatives

  • Experience with leading new technology testing for business use cases

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Strong customer service orientation and demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts towards successful solutions

  • To military applicants: military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined (above/below).

Mid-level Business Process Analyst:

  • Experience participating on projects driving software deployments and project management tools

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively lead and facilitate multiple project teams simultaneously

  • Uses independent judgment and decision-making, and knows when to get others involved

  • Uses business process improvement methodologies, benchmarking, and change management practices

  • Experience with SharePoint, business workflow tools, and Microsoft Office tools

  • Experience applying project management principles to lead new initiatives

  • Experience with leading new technology testing for business use cases

  • Experience participating in cross-functional teams

  • Strong customer service orientation and experience resolving conflicts towards successful solutions

Education Requirements

Preferred Bachelor Degree (or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education)
