What We're Looking For
Responsible for completing technical reviews of underground utility (water and wastewater) plans to ensure compliance with applicable local standards, codes, and laws. This position works closely with the project managers, plan review teams, and inspection teams to review, permit, contract, and asset water and wastewater infrastructure associated with residential and commercial land development projects.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Complete technical reviews of underground utility (water and wastewater) plans to ensure compliance with applicable local standards, codes, and laws.
Prepare checklists, comment letters, and technical markups to address design plan deficiencies.
Prepare and file permitting documentation required by local permitting authorities.
Communicate with applicants and their representatives to resolve design plan deficiencies.
Attend in-person and virtual meetings with utility representatives and applicants to ensure plan compliance.
Document application progress for reporting purposes.
Assist with related responsibilities as required.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Experience in water, wastewater, and storm utility design, construction, or inspection and familiarity with water distribution and wastewater collection specifications, permitting, Indiana state regulations, etc.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and similar programs

What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs office management engineer work when needed including but not limited to; prepares meeting agendas and meeting minutes, assists in processing and maintains tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, pay estimates, and other deliverables.
Assists with and monitors construction field work tasks and activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans and specifications. Reads, comprehends, and checks for compliance with applicable contract documents.
Performs or observes on-site material testing. Reviews plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities), pricing of materials, etc. and ensures that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
Reviews contractor's daily construction reports for accuracy, thoroughness and consistency. Regularly reviews contractor's as-built mark-ups, documents project progress using video and photos.
Consults with Resident Engineer on work progress and construction problems, proactively recommends solutions and assists in the resolution of issues, and acts as a liaison with the engineer of record.
Remains current and knowledgeable of industry technology and tools used to perform inspection work through industry resources, training, and research. Gains exposure to new technology and utilizes it (GPS/Rovers) to increase efficiency and accuracy of inspection tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in relevant field and 4 years relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field and 2 years relevant experience.
