Description
SAIC is looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team supporting an important US government agency in the National Capital Region. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that engineers and implement upgrades and changes to critical IT systems and applications.
This role requires on site work in Washington, D.C. 2 days per week.
The customer manages and maintains a roadmap of IT infrastructure projects and upgrades that are prioritized and tasked to support contractors. Major projects include Azure and Microsoft Dynamics migrations, RedHat (RHEL) and Windows operating system upgrades, JAVA Runtime Edition (JRE) updates across the enterprise, a full implementation of enterprise identity and access management (IAM) tools and associated services, datacenter migrations and more. These are a few examples of the important tasks and projects for which the project manager in this position would be responsible for leading and managing.
Project managers provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams comprised of systems engineers, test engineers, systems administrators, database administrators, project sponsors and others. Project managers are responsible for scope, schedule, and quality performance of IT project teams. Responsibilities also include managing scope, coordinating stakeholder participation, assessing and mitigating risks, reporting progress against plan, and collecting lessons learned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED SKILLS:
PMI Certification required.
CI/CD, DevSecOps, Agile methodology, Scrum framework Knowledge and experience. The successful candidate must also have broad knowledge of current information technology systems, infrastructures, and technologies.
Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a large community of stakeholders.
Candidates must possess leadership skills to successfully manage diverse teams.
All candidates for consideration must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure projects, SDLC and technical experience (certifications preferred) in Microsoft, Knowledge and experience in the Change and Release Management, Iaas, SaaS and PaaS are also a plus.
A strong working knowledge of network technologies and concepts, Active Directory, Windows OS, and Desktop and cloud applications such as Office365 and SharePoint Online.
