Cracker Barrel is on the search for a General Liability Specialist to join the Claims team at our Home Office in Lebanon, TN. In this role, you would adjust and settle guest general liability claims, including lawsuits, in a manner, which balances customer satisfaction with the protection of Cracker Barrel's assets.
Investigates guest incident reports. Interviews or corresponds with the guest, company personnel, and witnesses to obtain facts regarding guest claims, to evaluate liability or negligence issues.
Evaluates facts gathered and other pertinent information such as medical records, dental records, correspondence, legal opinions, etc. to make a liability determination.
Negotiates and resolves guest incidents, within established authority levels, directly with the guest or their attorney.
Discusses guest incidents with settlement value over established authority level to the claims manager to obtain authority to resolve.
Works directly with defense counsel on litigated matters to research, analyze, and produce supporting legal discovery and evidence to develop case defense.
Corresponds and communications routinely with counsel to formulate case strategies.
High School diploma and 2-4 years experience in risk management, or insurance claims; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer college degree in business or insurance.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of legal terminology.
Basic knowledge of insurance terminology.
Strong analytical and decision making skills.
Ability and willingness to travel overnight for trials, depositions, investigations, mediations.
