Our Systems of Systems Artificial Intelligence (AI) team seeks a Machine Learning Production and Deployment Engineer.

WHO WE ARE

Currently, we are at the forefront of integrating AI into defense systems, a venture spearheaded by our AI Factory in collaboration with our business sectors. To further innovate and enhance our capabilities, the Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Systems of Systems Artificial Intelligence (AI) team is looking to recruit a Machine Learning Engineer based in Manassas, Virginia. The role will concentrate on machine learning research, production, deployment involving data, databases, displays, stack management, Kubernetes, large-scale infrastructure, and experiment management.

THE WORK

On a day to day basis you can expect the work to be customer focused and involve deployment to the edge while working with a close knit team. It will entail:

- Working in a high performance computing environment and being involved in creative ML work.

- Software development & containerization.

- Display & database integration.

- Partnering with the peer engineering organizations and chief engineer offices.

- Have a background in software engineering, DevOps, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

- Strong problem solving mindset: ability to develop create solutions to difficult problems often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, ambiguous or incomplete data on a fast-paced schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree is Software Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related STEM degree

- Some experience with AI/ML: disciplines, domain programming languages (e.g. Python, C++, Linux), models, frameworks, and toolsets

Active security clearance and willing to work onsite with our team in Manassas, VA in our advanced development lab

Desired Skills:

- DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines to build, test, deploy

- Experience with C/C++, CUDA, NVIDIA libraries, cloud, containers & modern AI tools, or have implemented AI inferencing streaming (e.g. Triton, kserve, etc.)

- Experience with production ML and High Performance Compute Development Experience

- Strong problem solving mindset: ability to develop create solutions to difficult problems often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, ambiguous or incomplete data on a fast-paced schedule

- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex design information, technical decision and issues to both highly technical and non-technical peers

- Ability to build and maintain relationships across organizations, collaborate with others, engage in constructive conflict, and manage interpersonal dynamics - not afraid to challenge the existing approach to solutions

Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
