Software and Services

  • A successful track record or demonstrated proficiency as an engineer who has worked on distributed systems.

  • Experienced Engineer, Contributor, Committer, or PMC to Alluxio, HDFS-related technologies.

  • Good knowledge of in-memory cache, caching policies, and distributed file system internals.

  • Experience working on or building connectors from Spark, Trino, or Flink to any of the data sources.

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes or other compute substrate.

Description

We provide Data Platform as a service powered by Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Druid, and Flink to many Apple internal organizations. This service forms the basic platform upon which most of Apple's data engineering and data science systems and use cases are built. The Apple Cloud Service Engineering team needs a strong hard-working engineer who can work both on open source communities and internal teams. We have several open-source PMCs / committers in Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Druid, Flink, and several related projects we are using. You will work with them to take the distributed cache service and related technologies to the next level.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience. Advanced Degree preferred.
