Position Description
Serco is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team member to join a high-profile and challenging project supporting the US Navy. The Control & Mission Systems Lead will be serving on a dynamic team, supporting autonomous surface vessels at our client's site at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC). This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret DoD Clearance.
You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology Naval systems. You will provide technical support for our customer as part of an integrated team on-site in San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will:
TheControl & Mission Systems Leadwill perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, integration, testing, field installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, and electrical systems.
Support the lead T&E engineer to evaluate mission capabilities, and integrate payloads
Conduct routine and corrective maintenance of mission systems payload and associated gear
Support test and engineering teams in making the technical determination of system performance and operational suitability for fleet implementation.
Support issuance of T&E program guidance for program planning, resource coordination, and interface with other government, contractor, and T&E agencies.
Supports Integrated Test Teams (ITTs) for technical determination of system performance and operational suitability for fleet implementation.
Provides technical expertise as required to identify problems and corrections.
Provide sound and seasoned technical judgement that follows company policies and procedures in meeting customer obligations.
Assist with vessel modifications, including development of Engineering Change Proposals, procurement of parts, fabrication, installation, and testing.
Assist with electrical, mechanical and network payload integration.
Ability to problem solve during high stress environments such as field testing in austere conditions.
Travel and at-sea watch standing will be required.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will need:
Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3 years' experience operating and maintaining sea-based unmanned mission systems. 2 years' experience in maritime electro/mechanical systems
Secret security clearance is required.
Experience in maritime operations to include unmanned vehicles.
Logistics experience in military and maritime maneuvers is preferred.
Able to interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics and drawings.
Proficient in the use of common hand and power-driven tools.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work with minimum supervision under a variety of conditions.
A current valid U.S. passport is required.
Minimum 25% travel CONUS/OCONUS
