COLLEGE INTERNLocation: Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States Date: Oct 27, 2022Job DescriptionIngalls Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions and provide the opportunity to possibly gain future full time employment. Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc. The recruitment and selection is based on bona fide business-related requirements.*All applicants must ensure the information below has been provided when applying for the summer internship program. Applicants may be disqualified if all information requested has not been provided - School Name - Degree Program & Major - Anticipated Graduation Date - Current Academic Level (such as Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Grad School) - Overall GPA - 4.0 scale Basic QualificationsCandidates must be enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program at one of the following colleges or universities: Jackson State University, Tougaloo College, Alcorn University, Mississippi Valley State University, Rust College or other HBCU. 1. Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May) 2. Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company's business requirements. Typically in the following areas: - Engineering - Business - Finance - Information Technology 3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Most recent college transcripts will be required and must be uploaded in the system at the time of application)4. Attend a college/university (undergraduate or graduate program) in the fall following the internship 5. Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, physical and a hair follicle drug screen 6. Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer. *An adequate email address is required when applying, receiving communication, and obtaining employment offers.
