Strategy Analyst
Description
The Alabama Power Marketing Strategy Analyst is responsible for developing strategic plans and valuation models, assisting in preparing presentations to describe the strategic rationale, creating perspectives on the strategic landscapes, and assisting in due diligence. Projects involve solving complex problems and improving operating performance across a broad variety of business units, from distributed energy resources (solar, battery, EVs), to non-kWh products and services (lighting, energy services), to corporate support functions. The Marketing Strategy group partners with internal business units to understand key business challenges and opportunities, conduct detailed analyses, and formulate strategic solutions. The analyst will also be responsible for thinking critically about the impact on the business from a strategic and integration perspective.
This role will focus on all of Alabama Power Company's residential, commercial, and industrial customers focusing on customer attraction/retention strategies and programs, including kWh and non-kWh sales, new and future products and services, and business processes & technology.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Plan Creation
Provides thought leadership and execution support on assignments to craft strategies
Consults with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to internal clients' strategy and operating success, ranging across all customer classes (R, C, I).
Identify strategic issues and opportunities and deliver recommendations related to findings across all customer classes
Qualitative and quantitative research using public and proprietary data
Growth Goals and KPIs Development
Development of goals and key metrics for sales and development organization
Communication of goals and expectations to all levels of sales and marketing leadership
Continuous evaluation of process and metrics to identify potential areas of enhancement
Business Process Assessment and Plan Development
Internal review of specific business approaches to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Creation of assessments and benchmarking
Recommendations for improvement and best practices

Experience
Experience developing plans to achieve company/business unit strategies
Experience leading cross-functional groups to develop and implement strategic goals and initiatives
Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to break down problems into fundamental parts, identify root causes, synthesize findings, and make informed decisions
Experience with different types of analysis (e.g., financial analysis and modeling, process analysis)
Proven ability to influence and communicate complex ideas effectively, verbally and in writing (including comfort and proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint)
Demonstrated high level of initiative and organization, with the ability to be resilient and adaptable
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong interest in and curiosity of the energy transition and utility business unit strategies
