Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will oversee a team of Project Managers and the project management process within the Marketing department. This includes team leadership, tracking and monitoring, problem solving, prioritization and communication. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining high standards by establishing best in class project management methodologies and tools. This role is responsible for successful project delivery, improvement in project management practices and developing the PM team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement marketing project management standards, tools, policies and metrics that fulfill the needs of the Marketing department including the unique needs of an in-house creative team. Monitor compliance. Champion change management.

  • Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects on time, within scope and budget including project deliverables, resource needs and timelines. Ensure project plans are uniquely designed to effectively deliver on the desired outcomes. Ensure accuracy of status and reports.

  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve project outcomes. Manage risks and roadblocks. Elevate to Marketing Leadership. Work with business partners to resolve and redirect as needed.

  • Work with Marketing Leadership to define project priorities for the team.

  • Lead, Develop, mentor and support team of PM's.

  • in establishing strong working relationships with all team members, stakeholders and agencies / vendors.

  • In establishing a pro-active and resourceful team culture.

  • In encouraging collaboration and team work, especially through challenges and changes within projects.

  • Own and oversee usage of project management technology solutions including Work Front as an efficient support tool for the team. Recommend effective usage standards.

  • Manage agency contracts and freelance budget.

  • Manage larger, more complex projects as needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise team of PM's

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required

  • 10+ years project management experience required.

  • 10+ years of experience in a marketing department or agency in a project management role preferred.

  • PMP highly desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and establish high-performance teams.

  • Strong, high-energy team player with problem-solving aptitude and ability to juggle multiple projects.

  • Familiar with risk management and quality assurance control.

  • Knowledge of Workfront or equivalent Project Management/Trafficking Tool

  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
