The Industrial Equipment Division is looking for a highly motivated individual for the position of Electrical Engineer focused on continuous improvement of our industrial welding products.
This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with engineering teams, operations/manufacturing, customer support and marketing to efficiently support our products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Primary responsibilities include product support of our industrial welding and induction power sources, wire feeders, and related accessories.
Work closely with the Sustaining Engineering team, Manufacturing/Operations, Product Management, Customer Service, and our end users to improve current products and assure customer satisfaction.
Effectively work with other electrical, software, mechanical, and welding engineers to support our products.
Involvement in electrical hardware product support activities including circuit analysis, component selection, prototyping, qualification testing, troubleshooting, reliability testing, third-party compliance testing and documentation.
Participate in project meetings and be responsible for assigned action items and project deliverables.
Ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field required.
Proficiency with electrical hardware design activities including: system architecture, component selection, schematic layout and assembly, troubleshooting, compliance testing and documentation, and manufacturing support
Experience with circuit modeling/simulation tools.
Understanding of PCB layout and PCB manufacturing processes.
Self-starter and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work effectively as an individual or in a team environment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Preferred:
1-5 years of industry experience.
Experience designing and testing to 3rd party (UL/CSA/CE) standards
Knowledge of insulation requirements between circuits (materials, creepage, clearance, dielectric strength)
Magnetics design experience including flyback, forward, and full bridge transformers as well as inductors.
Experience in mixed-signal embedded hardware design including signal conditioning for high-speed/precision signals in a power conversion setting, signaling across multiple insulation boundaries, and gate driver power supplies
Knowledge of PCB layout considerations for switch mode power supplies
Working knowledge of power conversion control systems
