Financial Analyst - AFT Budgeting Organization
This is a hybrid remote position and you will be required to attend meetings in person, as needed at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA.

Summary of Position Duties
The Financial Analyst position will provide financial leadership, planning, and support to meet corporate and business unit goals and objectives; ensure compliance with policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations that govern our business; establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with business unit and corporate partners to achieve these objectives. Provide insight on and influence financial business decisions that will drive growth and operational excellence including, target setting, reporting and analysis, planning and forecasting, corporate financial direction.
Job Experience and Education
B.S./B.A. in Business, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Accounting, or related field required; advance degree preferred
Basic understanding of GAAP and FASB
At least 2 years of O&M budgeting, Finance, Accounting, or similar experience highly desired
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures
Familiarity with General Accounting Procedures and Corporate Guidelines
Firm grasp of key financial concepts- Net income, EPS, cash flow analysis, revenue requirements
Working knowledge of financial management information systems and tools (PowerPlan, Oracle Planning, Oracle AP, Maximo, etc.)
Ability to manage stress and balance multiple priorities while producing high quality work under intense workloads and pressure
Possess:
Strategic thinking and planning skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skill
Creative analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated accounting and finance skill
Excellent computer skills - especially Excel, Power Point, and Word
Job Responsibilities
Provide financial and compliance analysis to internal customers and management team.
Build strong working relationships with internal and external partners to develop the deep business understanding necessary to draw conclusions and make recommendations
Analyze financial risks and opportunities and develop insights to influence the organization's business decisions
Analyze the business, identify issues and recommend solutions that improve the business unit's financial or operational performance in areas of responsibility including:
Budget preparation
Financial analysis, guidance, reporting, & communication (e.g., O&M, Capital, Unregulated, etc.)
Ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of financial information
Making recommendations for allocation of resources and identification of cost savings opportunities
Develop 5 year budgets annually with the assistance of key stakeholders.
Supporting your business unit ensuring that all targets are met
Keep compliance highly visible
Help management & supervision ensure employees understand and perform their roles & responsibilities and are knowledgeable of applicable financialpolicies and procedures that govern their activities
Perform required control activities to ensure compliance of financial policies and procedures
Provide guidance to employees on accounting, finance and compliance related issues
Establish and maintain effective relationships and communications within the business unit and corporate partners
Lead and/or manage special projects as required
Occasional Travel and extended overnight stay for on and off system storm logistics and other business needs is required
