Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, organized, results-oriented Tax Staff in The Woodlands, Texas. This professional self-starter will join the Tax team and participate in the full cycle of indirect taxes from budgeting and planning to payment processing.

Primary Responsibilities
Process the property and excise tax accounts payable function
Review and log indirect tax invoices and payments
Assign appropriate GL account codes, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Prepare supporting documentation and initiate electronic and check payments
Maintain filing system of processed tax invoices
Respond to questions and prepare correspondence regarding invoices
Research field inquiries regarding indirect tax payments
Perform other responsibilities as needed by the Tax team
Qualifications
1 - 2 years prior experience processing a large volume of invoices
Experience with an A/P or G/L integrated software system is an advantage
Must possess a good understanding of basic accounting principles
Good verbal and written communication
Strong organization skills and detail oriented
