Software and Services

  • 2+ years of experience with Apache Solr and/or Apache Lucene.

  • Strong track record of contributing to and engaging with Open Source projects and communities.

  • Strong programming expertise in Java, preferably with critical, large-scale distributed systems.

  • Open source tools such as GitHub, package managers, and CI systems.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to quality; Excellent written and oral communication skills on both technical and non-technical topics

  • Extensive hands-on experience building solutions for large-scale internet infrastructure; with emphasis on Search systems

Description

Apache Solr is a widely used technology across Apple and the ACI Open Source Solr team is responsible for driving and growing the Solr community within Apple. Our team consists of active Open Source community members who closely engage and drive the upstream project. We are looking for a software engineer with experience in developing and operating Apache Solr to join the team. We seek engineers with expertise in building scalable applications and a strong understanding of cloud architecture and distributed systems. You will have the opportunity to work with other teams from across the company while delivering functionality that is essential for our most important external and internal services. Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus

  • - Experience with filesystems and server architectures is a plus
