SAIC is seeking cleared (TS//SCI with CI Poly) Systems Engineer / Mission Planner to support an Intelligence Community customer in Fort Belvoir, VA. Performs Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system operations performance analysis. Utilize custom collection management tools and application frameworks, and libraries working with a team of analysts to develop solutions to studies and analytic questions.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies.

  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.

  • Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs.

  • Knowledge with floor layout, power cooling, data storage, infrastructure management, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.

  • Transform user requirements into optimized collection plans.

  • Assist in advancing current and promising concepts to inform tactical decision making timelines.

  • Conduct analysis of mission data applicable to space vehicles and sensors.

  • Understand and utilize global collection patterns and trends for optimization.

  • Knowledge of vehicle, ground/software design and limits that impact collection

  • Work in a collaborative team environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the Space domain.

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.

  • Works under only general direction.

  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects.

  • Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.

  • Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

  • Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, mathematics, or other field of study coupled with equivalent experience in technical operations and/or management of sophisticated technology.

  • Minimum 5 or more years relevant experience.

  • Experience with systems engineering approaches to provide sound and objective technical solutions for customer mission systems.

  • Familiarity with current and planned national security space and ground systems.

  • This position requires a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
