Business Systems Analyst
KBR is looking for entry level Business Systems Analyst for Project Management Support in the Space Science organization at Goddard Space Flight Center. This role will be a part of the overall Project Management Office supporting task leads and project managers and will also provide administrative functions as needed. We need someone who can handle multiple competing priorities from a variety of customers, so communications and collaboration are key skillsets.
The Business Systems Analyst will provide financial, scheduling, procurement, and asset management services across multiple separate missions within the organization. Participate in long-term project planning sessions with multiple customers to improve business processes, generally involving use and improvement of information systems and government systems. Manage small IT and operations projects from inception to completion including cost, scope, and resources. The Business Systems Analyst will provide financial management and reporting support to the Program Management Office to manage task performance more effectively. Work with task order leads, Program Managers, Contract Support and Program Planning and Control teams to bring efficiencies in processes and business workflow to improve the effectiveness of the PMO.
Responsibilities:
Manage support activities and documentation such as project priorities, budget allocation and forecasting, milestone tracking and manage projects to completion
Manage customer's priorities of projects and requests
Assess customer needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks and cost vs. benefits.
Lead the development and communication of business requirements to the IT community for the design and implementation of business solutions
Establish relationships across mission domains by being proactive, displaying in-depth knowledge of their functions and lead the development and implementation of innovative business solutions and new standard operating procedures
Participates in short-term project planning sessions with one or more customers to improve one or more business processes within an organization, generally involving use and improvement of information systems
Provide general administrative support where needed across the group
Will own small to medium scale projects with general direction with little or no oversight and will be part of a team for large scale efforts
Own the procurement of all material and services for all Space Science organization tasks and missions
Manage and track all property and conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance with contract requirements
Responsible for the PMO management system including administration duties, management of users and development of new capabilities
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
BS/BA in IT management field or related field
1 - 4 years of professional experience managing multiple customers and competing priorities
Solid MS Office background (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); able to build complex spreadsheet, strong technical writing, and able to create presentations
Good understanding of financial principles
Comfortable with multiple technologies including desktop and cloud-based applications
