Provides regulatory support and mentorship in one or more of the following areas: regulatory complaints; licensing; Board, Committee and Member Meeting preparation; legal and regulatory filings; review of laws and regulations for business impact; identification of outstanding compliance issues; or support for compliance analysis and assessments.

Primary Responsibilities:
Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
Applies appropriate Enterprise Compliance Policies and Standards related to the specific job function to ensure accurate regulatory response and compliance.
Reviews and research moderately sophisticated regulatory requests, such as complaints, company appointments, and/or general changes to laws and regulations.
Coordinates with appropriate business partners to ensure accurate inquiry and/or regulatory resolution.
Develops written responses to regulators, including supporting documents, to resolve regulatory inquiries.
Serves as subject matter expert to the team on escalated issues.
Ensures internal processes are consistent with regulatory requirements, escalating appropriately when issues or gaps are identified.
Provides recommendations and feedback to business units regarding appropriate action to support the regulatory request.
Ensures business partners follow written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities related to specific job function.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience providing support on regulatory or compliance matters within a financial services or insurance industry.
Experience independently responding to regulatory inquiries.
Experience applying risk management compliance frameworks.
Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing in a highly complex environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Experience working with Microsoft Office products in a corporate or business setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or Federal Reserve.
Strong communication, research, reporting, and project management skills.
Experience working with and advising senior leaders and working collaboratively within a team.
Ability to embrace change and outside the box thinking to support the business in an ever changing regulatory landscape.

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $66,300.00 - $119,500*.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
