L3Harris Corporation is seeking an Senior Associate Systems Engineer (Level 2) for the Melbourne/Palm Bay, FL location. In this role you will have an opportunity to grow your competency in the following areas:
Systems Engineering Individual Contributor/Small Task Leadership:
For technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk supportability, and effectiveness analysis for total sub-systems.
To manage engineering subcontractors through regular interactions, development of technical documentation and coordinating design review activities.
For logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
To perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Development of top-level specification and manage requirement flow down to lower level specifications.
Development of CONOPS and Use Cases
To manage risk and opportunity with internal and external customers; work with technical team to identify, mitigate and close program risks.
Project Engineering Individual Contributor/Small Task Leadership:
Project/integrated product team (IPT)/product development with cost and schedule responsibility.
Develops, presents, and delivers comprehensive presentations to the project team in a clear and concise manner.
Monitors the product/project from initiation through completion and/or customer acceptance.
Developing, managing, and maintaining project-level risks, including mitigation, costing and planning.
Establishment and execution of detailed integrated master schedules
Working with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
Working with Project Scheduler to develop, monitor, and status detailed MS Project schedules.
Working with Finance using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reports to manage project performance.
Reviewing of earned value metrics such as CPI, SPI, TCPI, and ETC to drive program focus
Works with Systems Engineering to ensure that products/projects delivered meet customer requirements and specifications.
Driving a culture of continuous improvement as evidenced by executed improvement projects
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment; interact, anticipate and respond to customer needs.
Work multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing situations
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
Demonstrated methodical approach to their work.
Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workload appropriately.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred/Additional Skills:
Ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Demonstrated experience in Requirements managements, traceability, and verification with IBM Rational DOORS
C4ISR Systems and Operations experience a plus
Knowledgeable in the application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) process and tools
Ability to work well with SMEs across multiple engineering disciplines
Engineering experience across multiple technical focus areas a plus
Proficient with MS project and other MS Office packages
Functional management experience or direct involvement in resource management forecasting and placement a plus.
Demonstrated earned value / cost account management experience
Demonstrated schedule responsibility experience
