The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a dedicated Junior level Business Process Consultant to participate in Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Fellowship Cohort 23-3 with USAA. The HOH Fellowship Program builds an extraordinary experience for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses that increase competitiveness and improve opportunities to find meaningful employment by providing development, skills, and exposure to corporate working environment and private sector business operations. HOH Fellowship Programs are best-in-class workforce development programs that are cohort based and twelve weeks in duration.
The position is a hybrid work type and can be based in any one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; Colorado Springs, CO or Tampa, FL. Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds - collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results.
The position is specifically within the Deposit Servicing experiences and processes area. The Deposit Servicing ART (Agile Release Train) manages the life cycle of all non-payment member deposit account servicing experience. The servicing experiences span from the moment the product is onboarded to the end of the product life cycle. The purpose of the ART is to develop member experiences that will product life long relationships while mitigating risk and remaining compliant.
Applies knowledge of bank processes and products and acts as a trusted advisor by providing consultation services to internal clients in areas of strategic sourcing, alternatives and solutions, supplier management, affiliate agreement adherence, third party risk management, and bank operations. Collects and consolidates demand and identifies opportunities, within the Bank.
Understands the bank customer market strategy and proactively identifies and confirms business requirements. Executes the development of business process related solutions for internal clients and members. Provides support with the evaluation of processes/ resources and assists with the development of effective solutions/ improvements/ improvements to ensure the efficient operation of the organization.
What you'll do:
Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Under limited supervision, participates in the implementation of process initiatives that support the bank's strategic roadmap.
Applies foundational knowledge of the business and assists with alignment of business deliverable processes and capabilities with business needs.
Applies an understanding of risk and regulatory compliance when providing consultation on bank business strategies and solutions.
Participates in the execution of applicable risk control plans and assists in identification of bank business process management risks.
Assists with development of communication plans for customers and internal collaborators.
Partners with others and may lead in the delivery of engagement strategies and/ or solutions.
Prepares reports to measure project and process performance. Identifies trends and opportunities for business process and customer processes.
Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree; OR 4+ years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
2+ years of experience in business process consulting, process design and/or program/project management experience.
Knowledge of bank products and processes.
Experience in implementing and sustaining change/improvements.
Developing experience/ knowledge of Risk Management frameworks and Banking Regulatory requirements.

What we offer:
Hiring Our Heroes Fellows are paid by the HOH program.
If selected for a full-time role, USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The hiring range for this position is: $59,070 - $112,920.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
