PowerSecure has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Electrical Designer (Entry Level ) to join our team located in Durham, NC. This is a hybrid work environment-on-site and remote. The primary duties of the Electrical Designer I (Entry Level) are to provide design services for the design and implementation of all DI Products at the Randleman/RTP, NC facility. These design activities are to include the creation of AutoCAD Electrical drawing packages and confirm/verify parts and design information using datasheets and other engineering documentation. This effort will be based on customer or internally provided plans and specifications that will be submitted and then released to manufacturing in accordance with the Product Engineering procedures and standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Create templates and product blocks.

  • Create and verify the BoM (Bill of Materials) for the project.

  • Ensure schedules and milestone dates are achieved via the Master Production Schedule.

  • Review and verify the drawing packages prior to release.

  • Prepare engineering drawings from sketches, verbal descriptions, specifications and technical information.

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to provide quality designs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with [Autodesk] AutoCAD Electrical/Inventor Professional and Vault.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills with a desire for continuous improvement.

  • Knowledgeable with ANSI, NFPA 79, UL, and NEC standards.

  • Symbols and terminology used in electrical and mechanical engineering drawings

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in the English language.

  • Be capable at working on a team or self-directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Associate Degree Preferred.

  • 0-2 years of related Electrical Design experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents which include, but not limited to, work instructions, written directions, and markups to electrical drawings.

  • Be detail-oriented and accurate and have a positive can-do attitude.

  • Working knowledge of Basics of Electrical.

  • Hands on experience with the following tools-Autodesk- AutoCAD Electrical (SG-EE) /Autodesk Inventor Professional (PG-EE) and Vault Professional
