What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! We are looking for a leader who is ready to work closely with clients, utility owners, teaming partners and the internal design team to create a utility coordination program for projects including subsurface utility investigation, resolution of utility conflicts, documentation, and utility clearance. This person will be looked to apply their advanced knowledge in utility coordination to recommend utility clearance procedures in conformance with state/federal regulations and industry standards, and work with the team to ensure these procedures are followed. Utility coordination includes conformance with the PUC and railroad coordination.
This position supports the technical aspect of project development and delivery including proposal development and scope implementation. Ensures industry and HNTB standards of design are applied consistently and effectively across projects ranging in discipline, size and complexity. Responsible to use advanced knowledge to analyze challenges, provide solutions, make recommendations and resolve issues. Responsible for successful project delivery that delivers quality, within budget, on time and to the client's satisfaction. In addition, there is an opportunity to manage client programs that includes infrastructure disciplines beyond utilities. They will serve as a technical liaison for clients such as PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak, and DRPA.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Development of a utility coordination program for projects and clients including subsurface utility investigation, resolution of utility conflicts, documentation and utility clearance that is in conformance with state/federal regulations and industry standards.
Leadership of a team of internal staff and teaming partners to adhere to the utility coordination program to gain utility clearance.
Leads team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design within budget and on schedule
Reviews design calculations and plans to ensure quality work and deliverables
Collaborates with other disciplines
Develop scope of work and project budgets
Serves as technical liaison with the client on projects
Manage client programs beyond utility coordination
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Subsurface utility investigation planning and coordination
PUC and railroad coordination
Relationships with utility owners in Pennsylvania
20 years relevant experience
What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs independent technical reviews, makes recommendations, and provides technical guidance as requested on complex or unusual engineering projects. Provides direction to resolve technical issues as requested.
Provides technical expertise and advice to project leadership, and mentoring/support to production staff.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.
Coordinates technical aspects with client counterpart and teaming partners at local leadership level for work within and across disciplines on complex or unusual engineering projects.
Develops and advises on technical consistency within and across disciplines on processes and projects.
Ensures same standard and practices are being applied.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience
Master's degree in Engineering and 11 year of relevant experience
PhD in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience
