Job Description
Put into service and operate all marine diesel power/gas turbine plants and all related auxiliary equipment. Lines up all systems for operation, set controls, interpret temperature, pressure and flow readings. Sets up and operate automatic controls, air conditioning, refrigeration plants, and various other auxiliary equipment common to Naval Vessels.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of all the fuel systems aboard vessel, with the ability to set-up and do operational testing on all fuel oil service, transfer and storage systems. Must have knowledge of ballast, dewatering, oily water separator, potable water, and lube oil systems. Mechanical aptitude skill level is necessary. Knowledge of vessel stability and tank layout for ballasting vessel is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 4 yrs experience in Propulsion or Auxiliary Ship Systems Operations. Prior Navy or Merchant Marine experience strongly desired.
