Systems Engineer 3
KBR is seeking a junior-mid level systems engineer who will be responsible for supporting the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Land Imaging (NLI) Program and other interagency projects and activities. The USGS NLI Program is responsible for developing and maintaining user needs for collecting, processing, archiving, and distributing land surface data to the U.S. Government and other users. These user needs inform the development of future land imaging satellite missions and serve as a basis to evaluate the efficacy of sensor and mission designs. The NLI Program also supports land imaging architecture studies that span the range of available observing platforms (satellite and airborne) and data providers (government, foreign, commercial, etc.). The ideal candidate will have experience in data collection, analysis, and data visualization. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented critical thinker with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate will represent KBR in a variety of forums and interact regularly with government personnel.
The candidate will be responsible for engagement with the land imaging user community and working with visualization tools as part of an integrated set of analytical processes. A technical background in Earth science, remote sensing, and/or remote sensing technology is desired.

Chantilly, VA (Employee can work remotely)
Job Duties:
Support engagement and data collection across a range of Federal agencies
Input and maintain user needs information, Earth observing system capabilities data, and value tree information in the USGS Earth Observation Requirements Evaluation System (EORES) relational database
Provide analytical support to a range of teams and customers
Generate interactive data visualizations using TableauTM or similar tools
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Earth sciences, remote sensing, imaging science, or engineering preferred
BS / BA with a minimum of 12 years of experience
Data visualization using TableauTM or similar tools
Experience with data analysis and data management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
