The Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining products that will transform the North American Freight Industry! This role will require interaction with global senior management and will use your skills in high-end technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and ability to support and drive strategy definition and execution. We seek someone with combined experience and skills in developing sophisticated opportunities. If you have a Railroad and Business Development background with validated experience generating new prospects and converting them into business success, we'd love to have you join our team!

What your day-to-day will look like:

  1. Formulate and implement long-term plans for sound development and architecture across all Software Solution projects and product development activities.

  2. Leverage domain expertise to both lead and support organizational strategy definition and execution

  3. Mentor and lead technical expertise varying in experience (Junior-Senior)

  4. Eliminates significant business-impacting technical debt and risk.

  5. Increase Siemens profitability through:

  • Identifying strategy to incorporate low-cost engineering where applicable

  • Business Development support activities

  • Support Sales and B&P efforts to acquire new business.

  • Process identification allows for sound development and significantly reduces "rework."

  • Increase automation, where available, within the SDLC

  • Upon request, localize product development efforts for existing products globally.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience of at least eight years working as a system architect designing solutions for Freight Railroad customers.

  • In-depth Positive Train Control knowledge (PTC), including designing systems to support PTC.

  • Previous experience supporting Sales and Bids and Proposal efforts - includes providing RFP and RFI responses, technical estimation, etc.

  • Previous technical leadership role experience is advantageous.

  • In-depth understanding of coding languages

  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases

  • Efficient interpersonal skills include communicating effectively with internal and customer management personnel.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science is preferred.
