Description
SAIC is searching for a Payload Antenna & Electronics Engineer to support the Government customer in the oversight of the design, integration, and test of spacecraft payloads. This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and a Polygraph and is supported in Chantilly, VA.
In this role you will provide expert advice and coordination concerning antenna and associated electronics development.
Specific duties include:
Assess feasibility of new antennas and antenna functionality enhancements.
Review and coordinate on changes to specifications, interface control documents, and system level requirements documentation pertaining to the functionality and accommodation of antennas onto the satellite bus.
Identify and assess emerging risks; develop and evaluate proposed burn-down plans. Provide support to factory integration and test activities as required.
Review antenna manufacturing specifications for accuracy and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Review drawings, documents, and procedures for antenna, design, manufacturing, integration, program planning and execution -- provide comments to the Government customer.
Work with antenna models for performance evaluations and predictions.
Attend antenna and payload level design reviews and program management reviews to assess antenna design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the Government customer.
Provide technical evaluation of payload efforts in contractor Engineering Change Proposals.
With Government customer coordination and approval, may be called upon to represents Government's position during factory meetings.

Experience with spacecraft antenna design, manufacture, and test.
Basic understanding of Defense and Intelligence Community (DoD/IC) satellite systems, and architectures.
Demonstrated ability to be effective in a Government/Contractor team environment.
Able to travel domestically up to 25%.
