As a Senior Planning Yard Project Manager, you will be on a team that is responsible for a planning yard, maintenance facility, and the procurement of parts and providing training for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) new Multi Mission Surface Combatants (MMSC). You will work closely with Government and industry professionals from around the world, as well as shipyards, vendors, and support personnel. This position is contigent upon your ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret DoD level clearance post-employment.
Our management staff includes includes individuals with over 35 years of military and industry experience, including working with domestic and foreign defense and security customers. We welcome talent with skillsets acquired from planning yards, shipyard maintenance facilities, and technical training schools.
Serco supports the RSNF as a subcontractor on a commercial contract providing naval vessel life-cycle sustainment, including planning yard functions, maintenance, procurement services, and training.
In this role you will:
Lead, manage, and be directly responsible for performance of a commercial contract involving CONUS and international partners.
Provide analysis of shipyard progress data and metrics, and other relevant sources of information to advise clients on current and developing issues. Use tools such as Integrated Master Schedule and Cost Performance Reports. Assess data and metrics to identify and remove production chokepoints, resource allocation restrictions, or other issues impacting successful completion of vessels' intermediate and depot-level maintenance.
Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services.
Track and monitor services provided through execution and client acceptance.
Conduct financial and schedule trend analysis.
Lead and direct the work of others including providing mentorship.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's Degree and a mimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Military or DoD experience can be substituted for a degree if sixteen (16) or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher-level position.
You must have the ability to obtain an interim Secret DoD level clearance post-employment.
United States (U.S.) citizenship.
Experience working in the MENA region.
A demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of at least two of the following:
Managing a planning yard
Supervision of a maintenance facility
Director of a training program, including classroom and/or OJT training elements.
Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to travel to support activities in shipyards and a foreign naval facility. Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials. Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to supervise or accomplish ship checks, may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
Proficiency in the analytical review of ship maintenance data and knowledge of Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) is highly desirable.
Arabic language ability a plus, but not required.
