Title: SPECIAL ORDER CLERK (RPT/ Home Gallery) Location: United States-Hawaii-Honolulu Job Number: 220000MQ Job Summary: Responsible for handling all phases involved in the special order of retail merchandise not formally stocked at a Navy Exchange. Duties and Responsibilities: Upon request of customers initiates the special order of retail merchandise not formally stocked at a Navy Exchange. Prepares purchase orders for items falling within authorized procurement levels and forwards to vendor. Prepares purchase order worksheets for items falling above authorized procurement levels and forwards to proper ordering authority. Determines cost and shipping charges and customer deposit required. Advises customer of price expected delivery date etc. Follows up with vendors to ensure receipt of order and timely delivery. Keeps customers informed of order status delays back orders etc. advises customer upon receipt of merchandise and coordinates delivery. As required checks merchandise transfers and ensures requested items are boxed and shipped out. Arranges for necessary transportation to brancheslocations. Completes merchandise transfers including extending cost and totalling amounts. Checks merchandise for damage type quantity etc. Prepares chargebacks and returns defective or unsatisfactory merchandise to vendor. Maintains library of current catalogs and price lists describing merchandise available for special order. Maintains liaison with vendors and retail buyers concerning merchandise price availability shipping terms etc. Provides patrons with specific product information based on knowledge of manufacturers catalog. Maintains logs and files necessary to the special order function. Coordinates processing of raincheck requests with NEXCEN procurement personnel and keeps customers informed of status. Maintains appropriate records and logs and follows up to ensure receipt of raincheck items. Notifies customers when items are received. May operate a cash register and maintain a change fund. Exercises tact good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers and fellow associates. Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: One year of responsible work in clerical office or retail sales store work of any king in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily as a Special Order Clerk. And SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of responsible experience in retail sales performing the similar duties performed by a Special Order Clerk. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENC:E Study completed in a college university or junior college above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of onehalf academic year of study for 6 months of experience. Specialized experience may be substituted for general experience.
