Overview
To provide continuous 24-hour operation of NFCU headquarters facility systems supporting critical headquarters functions and the work environment.
Responsibilities
Provides 24-hour X 7 day X 52 week continuous coverage of NFCU headquarters facility control systems by operating and evaluating the performance of the various systems (e.g., fire alert, electrical and electrical backup, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, card access, intercoms, public address, and closed circuit television camera systems) critical to the continuous operation of headquarters.
Assesses problems and unusual or emergency situations such as fire alarms, electrical outages, water damage, security breaches and weather conditions.
Determines course(s) of action including headquarters evacuation, performs initial damage containment and implements disaster recovery operations.
Resolves problems by using documented procedures, reference manuals, troubleshooting guides and acquired expertise. Guides technicians through the resolution process.
During emergency situations, identifies personnel requiring special assistance and communicates information regarding their location and needs to security personnel.
Performs tests of emergency systems and procedures in coordination with contractors and Facility Management.
Works independently after normal business hours performing the above duties.
Performs preventive maintenance on automated system equipment.
Notifies supervisor of malfunctioning equipment and arranges for repairs.
Receives requests for assistance concerning problems or customer requested actions.
Works with employees to determine the nature and extent of the problem or request.
Determines and assigns a priority level to the request and enters details into the facility management system.
Resolves the request through coordination with in-house personnel and/or forwards service tickets to trade section.
Determines if the priority level needs to be escalated.
Initiates and coordinates outside vendor support if in-house personnel are unable to resolve.
Prepares, provides and reviews work management statistical data (e.g., how many tickets resolved, open, completed, time frames) and forwards for management's review.
Designs and generates reports.
Reviews reports and/or problem displays/logs to follow up on work status.
Contacts trade service section to determine if the problem is being resolved within established guidelines (e.g., time limits).
Informs section supervisors when time limits for resolution have been exceeded.
Informs employees of work order status until problem is resolved to the employee's satisfaction.
Conducts customer service surveys by telephone or survey forms to evaluate the responsiveness and quality of service.
Prepares reports for review by facility management supervisors.
Maintains reference manuals for facility systems, business and member service operations, NFCU instructions, state mandated logs (e.g., elevator inspection certificates, generator maintenance) and after-duty procedures at the Facility Operations Center.
Updates and revises directories of names, phone numbers, and beeper numbers of support personnel and company-wide support personnel for use in unusual and emergency situations.
Maintains files of documented diagnostic procedures as supplied by various support section supervisors. Creates signage (e.g., evacuation signs) for headquarters complex and member service centers.
Reviews sign orders and finished product to ensure signs are ADA compliant and in accordance with NFCU signage standards.
Orders and maintains signage supplies.
Monitors employee access to headquarters buildings and advises the Security Branch regarding: security violations, medical emergencies, and any abnormal situations that may endanger employee safety and security.
Obtains information from employees that push the panic button in the parking garages.
Directs Security personnel to the employee's location for immediate assistance.
Monitors automated video coverage of employees in trouble.
Performs other duties as assigned or appropriate.
Qualifications
Experience with automated building systems (mechanical electrical, security and/or fire)
Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and set priorities
Ability to exercise judgment and initiative, and make sound decisions
Ability to work rotating shifts
Ability to lift 35 pounds
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Effective problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications
High school education
One year experience in building trades (mechanical or electrical) or facility management
Working knowledge of software programs in word processing, spreadsheet and database management
Hours: Night Shift (5:00PM - 5:00AM)
Rotating Two-Week Schedule:
Week 1 - Work: Monday - Tuesday, Off: Wednesday - Thursday, Work: Friday - Sunday
Week 2 - Off: Monday - Tuesday, Work: Wednesday -Thursday, Off: Friday - Sunday
Weekends and Holidays:
Employees will be expected to work every other weekend and on some holidays

Essential Personnel Position:
This position requires that employees remain flexible and willing to accommodate alternative shifts in order to provide continual coverage to the service, based on business needs if specific circumstances were to occur. This includes unusual situations such as emergencies, reduced site operations, training scenarios, bad weather events, etc.
