This work will be managed from our South Dakota teams location but will be open for remote workers/work locations throughout the United States.
KBR is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner that is looking for an experienced and motivated Cloud support engineer that enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and has a strong technical background. As an AWS Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering new AWS projects for our customers. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead in the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of processes & capabilities to advance hybrid-cloud strategy for KBR's customers
Work with the larger design team to architect full hybrid-cloud solutions
Develop and maintain systems management tools to manage hybrid-cloud infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, auditing, de-provisioning using Python, Ansible and other tools
Work closely with the Architects and Engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect business needs, security requirements, and service level requirements for KBR's customers
Manage a continuous integration/continuous deployment methodology for Infrastructure technologies using industry standards such as Jenkins and GitLab Runners
Work with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement scalable software services
Lead and participate in a cross functional team environment to provide troubleshooting and support around core business applications
Ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously
Develop strategic roadmaps and project implementation plans based on customer requirements
Ability to identify AWS Cost Savings, Security Gaps, and AWS Best Practices across a variety of AWS Services and compliances FedRAMP
Ability to identifying and solve complex issues for our customers and present recommendations to senior leadership
Ability to deal with ambiguity and juggle multiple tasks at once
Ability to conduct an AWS Well-Architect Framework Review
Mentor junior engineers
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills
3 years of continuous residency in the United States for issuance of a Government Security credential
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Minimum Professional Experience of 12 years and should include:
5+ years of experience as a Cloud Software Developer/Engineer, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, or equivalent cloud experience
4+ years of DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and automation
3+ years in a customer facing role
4+ years of experience implementing and administering AWS services including EC2, Lambda, ELB, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation, etc.
Strong understanding of AWS Security and Network controls
Strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or other IaC tool
Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other configuration management tool
Experience with one or more scripting languages like Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell
General understanding of compliance around FedRAMP
Strong technical documentation skills
AWS Associate Certification or equivalent
Proven ability to work across teams
Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills
Ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a dynamic environment
The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Strong aptitude to learn and passion for problem solving
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Experience with agile techniques and methods
Familiarity with modern Software Engineering principles
Experience engineering and deploying public sector solutions
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
