The Opportunity
As a dedicated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisor, you will be responsible for the coordination, analysis, development, and implementation of business-specific Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) strategy to achieve DE&I strategic imperatives, aligned with DE&I-related employee and business groups across the enterprise.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Charlotte, NC; Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This Lead position leverages data-driven insights to identify opportunities in the business and develop defensible solutions and plans of action to drive results that align and support both operational and strategic priorities of the enterprise through providing consultation to Executive Council and all levels of CoSA and LOB leadership, CoSA and LoB DE&I working groups, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), education and training programs, and participation with external sponsorships and conferences. Partners across various HR organizations using DE&I data (reports and insights, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) data, Affirmative Action programs, training, and other fact-based information) to support focused activities that align with enterprise DE&I strategy. Primary focus will be support for employee driven and employee focused activities to ensure a healthy DE&I culture across the enterprise. Additionally, provides support for programs that engage USAA members (customers) in ways that reflect their unique needs; along with supporting activities and strategies that promote and advocate for diversity and equity within communities.
What you'll do:
Creates, executes, and manages full scale DE&I strategies and programs, through consultation and impactful plans of action, to meet Enterprise and CoSA/LOB DE&I strategic and operational plans, DE&I changing business needs, and ensure quality and best practice focused programs and solutions to support the achievement of goals and desired outcomes. Prepares DE&I reports including data analysis and identification of opportunities and solutions.
Partners with the DE&I leadership team in the development of the DE&I strategic vision; serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and lead for the most complex DE&I business transformation related projects and initiatives.
Provides enterprise DE&I consultation, advice, and solutions and serves as primary liaison to Executive Council and all levels of CoSA and LOB leadership, CoSA and LoB DE&I working groups regarding Employee Resource Groups, community events and investments, DE&I policy developments, responses, and communications.
Researches and analyzes DE&I standard methodologies including development of implementation strategies, business plans, action plans, or programs. Partners across various HR organizations and maximizes DE&I data (reports and insights, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) data, Affirmative Action programs, training, and other fact-based information) to support focused activities that align with enterprise DE&I strategy.
Collaborates with senior leaders and peer partners in the design of course content for DE&I presentations, communication, training, and learning modules.
Coordinates DE&I-related surveys and serves as a liaison to supplier diversity to ensure alignment with enterprise diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Uses established metrics to measure effectiveness of DE&I programs. Responsible for staying abreast of issues and industry best practices to elevate outcomes.
Applies expert knowledge of DE&I, the business, and strategic priorities and acts as a proxy for leadership when necessary.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
8 years of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) experience in one or more human resource disciplines or general DE&I business consulting/analysis experience
4 years of experience leading cross-functional teams or projects requiring strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
Subject-matter-expert understanding of the DE&I function/discipline
Subject-matter-expert level of business insight in the areas of the DE&I business operations, industry practices, and emerging trends
Demonstrated ability to assess and make decisions of a complex nature that aligns to Enterprise and/or CoSA DE&I objectives
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels
Subject-matter-expert knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to recognize key market trends and mitigate potential risks through proactive recommendations and thought leadership
Proven ability to work with highly confidential information
What sets you apart:
Exceptionally strong influencing skills, with the ability to influence at the highest levels of leadership, both in and out of HR.
Experience implementing business-specific DE&I strategies and managing broad enterprise-wide DEI programs.
Previous experience in financial services industry.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $115,240 - $220,270 . Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
