The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist to lead project teams and to execute projects aligned to critical business priorities. These projects will generate financial results and drive process improvement and efficiency.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional projects designed to analyze and design sequence of operations and work flows to improve efficiencies.

  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

  • Develop and implement plans and programs for advanced manufacturing processes and facility modifications to reduce labor hours and costs of manufacturing through Lean Manufacturing.

  • Interfaces with other departments to identify improvement opportunities for driving high quality and efficient processes

  • Mobilizes problem solving teams and supports groups to streamline processes

  • Facilitates kaizen events to drive continuous improvements in operations and office areas, including effective preparation and follow-up

  • Participates on multiple projects and applies continuous improvement techniques leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies to solve problems and build new capabilities.

  • Shares best practices and develops coordinated plans.

  • Be a change agent: challenge organizational leaders to drive continuous improvements and remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement processes.

  • Assist in development of long-range vision for 'next-generation' manufacturing plant.

  • Apply Best in Class benchmarks, cost analysis, Lean Six Sigma techniques to study manufacturing systems and operations. Identify cost and quality improvement projects.

  • Work with product engineering and development functions to enable successful product launch and VOD/VAVE initiatives

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • BS/BA Degree or Equivalent

  • 5+ years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvement / Lean Six Sigma efforts and enabling efficiency, effectiveness and tangible financial benefit

  • Hands-on and demonstrated experience with continuous improvement programs including employment of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies

  • Experienced in problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma, A3's, 5 Why, 8D's and Fishbone diagrams, as well as creating documents such as FEMA's, PFMEAs, control plans and flow charts

  • Facilitated or participated in at least 2 separate week long kaizen events while performing proper preparation and follow up

  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining detailed project plans for large scale projects

  • Comfortable with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated experience with ensuring effective Change Management development and execution

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LSS Black Belt or Lean Master certification

  • 5-10 years' experience within a manufacturing industry that does machining, assembly, and welding.

  • Experience working in union environments

  • ERP/MRP knowledge and experience

  • Robust knowledge of MS office applications including Project and Visio

  • Initial Tender/Spec/Job Details Review: Responsible for providing a initial, high level review of all technical documentation for a project including specifications, plans, drawings, etc. Provides technical expertise to assist opportunity with initial tender review. May participate in on-site job walk at customer site.

  • Bid Prep: Acts as a technical consultant in efforts to prepare project bid. Provides product and application expertise, design support, technical drawing support, etc. Advises sales team on technical request and implications as it related to the project.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

THE ROLE : The Service Shop Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner in theshop or at a customer job site.   • Rebuild pumps, service contracts, complete start up, field trouble shooting and repair, replace/install pumps.

  • Perform inspection of Xylem equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.

  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

  • Assist Godwin - pickup, delivery and setup, off rent and service diesel pumps, off rent, service and rebuild electric pumps, match / size / wire panels for rental pumps, set parameters, connect VFD to pump and test before shipping to rent.

Minimum Qualifications : Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Two to three years of experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience

  • Valid driver's license with good driving record

  • Commercial Driver License B - Preferred

  • Diagnosing basic mechanical problems

  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills

  • Safety practices and procedures

  • Basic mechanical aptitude

DAY IN THE LIFE :

In this role, the working environment may be frequently outdoors, weather extremities, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc. and the physical demands may include but not limited to {regularly sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. In addition, this role may require frequent travel to customer sites and on-call as a regular part of the job.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Strategic Oversight

  • Serve as part of the site leadership team, directing, coaching, and acting as lead subject matter expert (SME) to EHS activities.

  • Strategy planning, tactical execution, and delivery of critical EHS commitments

  • Build cross-functional relationships with Business and Functional leaders to foster support for continual EHS improvement.

  • Assist site with coordination, development, and delivery of EHS&S training and education programs for new hires and existing employees either by use of CBT or in-person training to meet regulatory and Xylem requirements.

  • Coordinate the distribution and communication of applicable EHSMS elements at the site to support comprehension, implementation, and accountability.

  • Participate in the Xylem Corporate EHS&S Audit Program to support ongoing compliance and management system audits at various operations and locations throughout Xylem. Serve as an audit team member and/or audit team leader.

  • Ensure the Insurance carrier's audit findings are closed within a reasonable time frame.

  • Oversee and drive BCP, ERP, IH Monitoring, BBSO, Security, MOC, and XPS action plans with the site.

  • Oversee (1) direct report. Manage dotted line reports, as applicable, with their personal and technical development, while driving accountability.

  • Tactical Oversight

  • Drive and expect zero injuries as an acceptable safety culture as a KPI.

  • Drive and expect zero environmental NOVs as a KPI

  • Monitor and drive 100% Training completion.

  • Assist in maintaining safety-related permits and air monitoring equipment.

  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis, system auditing, and ergonomic task analysis.

  • Monitor contractor safety compliance.

  • Act as Incident Commander by managing the containment, clean up, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate health and safety activities related to occupational noise.

  • Complete, communicate, and manage the site's risk assessment and overall mitigation plans/projects.

  • Outline the annual capital budget needed for injury prevention investments.

  • Maintain safety, DOT, and environmental metrics.

  • Manage recordkeeping (OSHA 300, IMSS, or EHS)

  • Lead, direct, and perform environmental (Air, Water, Waste) regulatory inspections including -cradle to grave- environmental audits of Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDF)

  • Lead, direct, manage, and coach teams on accident investigations and help facilitate the programs and procedures to ensure work-related injuries are reported and investigated to prevent reoccurrences.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on the organization's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

  • 5+ years' experience working as a safety professional in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • 3+ years supervising direct reports.

  • Construction experience preferred.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST) preferred.

  • Federal OSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health for general industry.

Additional Information/ Work Environment :

In this role, the working environment is onsite and does incorporate field-level operations. You can expect to have office duties where you will regularly require sitting or standing, walking, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility. Field-level operations will include observing and auditing and may be exposed to extreme cold or hot conditions which may require walkthroughs through construction sites (forests, hills, ditches, and rough, rocky terrain}. Must wear the required PPE while in the field, shops, yards, distribution center, and manufacturing area. In addition, this role may travel to neighboring branches to help support EHS activities and this role will be Mon - Friday 8-5 pm but at times may require Sat/Sun EHS support.

SALARY :

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 plus bonus.   • Assist site with coordination, development, and delivery of EHS&S training and education programs for new hires and existing employees either by use of CBT or in-person training to meet regulatory and Xylem requirements.

  • Coordinate the distribution and communication of applicable EHSMS elements at the site to support comprehension, implementation, and accountability.

  • Participate in the Xylem Corporate EHS&S Audit Program to support ongoing compliance and management system audits at various operations and locations throughout Xylem. Serve as an audit team member and/or audit team leader.

  • Ensure the Insurance carrier's audit findings are closed within a reasonable time frame.

  • Oversee and drive BCP, ERP, IH Monitoring, BBSO, Security, MOC, and XPS action plans with the site.

  • Oversee (1) direct report. Manage dotted line reports, as applicable, with their personal and technical development, while driving accountability.

  • Tactical Oversight

  • Drive and expect zero injuries as an acceptable safety culture as a KPI.

  • Drive and expect zero environmental NOVs as a KPI

  • Monitor and drive 100% Training completion.

  • Assist in maintaining safety-related permits and air monitoring equipment.

  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis, system auditing, and ergonomic task analysis.

  • Monitor contractor safety compliance.

  • Act as Incident Commander by managing the containment, clean up, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate health and safety activities related to occupational noise.

  • Complete, communicate, and manage the site's risk assessment and overall mitigation plans/projects.

  • Outline the annual capital budget needed for injury prevention investments.

  • Maintain safety, DOT, and environmental metrics.

  • Manage recordkeeping (OSHA 300, IMSS, or EHS)

  • Lead, direct, and perform environmental (Air, Water, Waste) regulatory inspections including -cradle to grave- environmental audits of Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDF)

  • Lead, direct, manage, and coach teams on accident investigations and help facilitate the programs and procedures to ensure work-related injuries are reported and investigated to prevent reoccurrences.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on the organization's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

  • 5+ years' experience working as a safety professional in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • 3+ years supervising direct reports.

  • Construction experience preferred.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST) preferred.

  • Federal OSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health for general industry.

  • Federal MSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health for surface and subsurface mines.

  • Federal EPA and state-equivalent programs for environmental protection.

  • Department of Transportation (DOT) programs.

  • Behavioral-based safety concepts involving industrial and manufacturing processes.

  • Proficiently competent with the use of computers and Microsoft Word PowerPoint, and Excel.

Additional Information/ Work Environment :

In this role, the working environment is onsite and does incorporate field-level operations. You can expect to have office duties where you will regularly require sitting or standing, walking, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility. Field-level operations will include observing and auditing and may be exposed to extreme cold or hot conditions which may require walkthroughs through construction sites (forests, hills, ditches, and rough, rocky terrain}. Must wear the required PPE while in the field, shops, yards, distribution center, and manufacturing area. In addition, this role may travel to neighboring branches to help support EHS activities and this role will be Mon - Friday 8-5 pm but at times may require Sat/Sun EHS support.

SALARY :

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. THE ROLE : The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for covering the assigned territory.   • Plan and organize business strategies to achieve desired growth results. Establish new rental and sales accounts through territory management, to include cold calling and personal visits to potential customer sites. Develop a diverse customer base to include traditional and nontraditional accounts and specialty market segments.

  • Identify, analyze and assess customers' pumping needs and react appropriately by recommending and designing pumping systems.

  • Develop a strong understanding of market conditions and local competitor pricingin order to position Xylem as the leading choice.

  • Provide technical services and support to customers, including educating them through in-person presentations and equipment demonstrations.

  • Expand the sale and rental of pumping products and aftermarket sales and services through establishing and maintaining customer contacts.

  • Collaborate with office and support staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service.

  • Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management system, generate sales plans, sales reports, bids, proposals and quotes; maintain prompt completion of filing expense reports and call reports.

  • Keep up-to-date with and review/analyze lead generators.

  • Participate in trade/professional shows and conferences as required.

  • Remain conscious and role model a safety-first approach at all time; ensure safety and regulatory compliance at both Xylem offices and on customer sites.

QUALIFICATIONS :

DAY IN THE LIFE : In this role, the working environment is both in office and visiting customer job sites as well as a shop environment. This position requires the ability to safely and effectively operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions. The standard weekly job hours are 40 hours and the travel requirement is up to 50%. This position requires the new hire to lift up to 70 lbs.
