Job Summary

*There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Candidates will be asked to indicate their work location preference (Herndon, Glen Allen, or Fredericksburg).

This role performs maintenance, installation and corrective activities on system protection devices, control circuits, metering, and communication equipment (both data and PLC) within Dominion's Transmission, Distribution and Generating network. All maintenance, installation and corrective activities performed under direct supervision from Tech/Senior/Lead technician.

  • This position ensures that appropriate compliance maintenance activities, applications, policies, and associated documentation are managed and maintained in support of ETFO's Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and Protective Relay and Control (PRC) programs

  • Maintenance activities include instruction/guidance in routine cleaning, calibration and functional operational testing of all primary electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection applications

  • Assists during routine testing and functional verification of all communications equipment including data, fiber optic, and power line carrier

  • Assists during functional operational testing of substation auxiliary equipment and verification of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) data systems that provide the operating centers with real time operating and alarm information

  • Assists with protective relay and control equipment repairs

  • Installation activities include assisting Lead/Senior technicians' functional verification of all primary and secondary equipment as designed by Dominion and its manufacturers

  • Corrective activities include assisting Lead/Senior technicians in analyzing alarms, identifying potential problems, and developing safe and effective basic corrective action investigation plans

  • Activities regarding potential cyber issues related to protection and control devices require that security assessments be performed to verify the integrity of cyber security control at substation locations

  • Successful candidate must be able to report to assigned office within 1 hour

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

System Protection Technician T1:

  • 0-1 years directly related experience including, but not limited to, electrical, electro-mechanical, system protection and/or utility scale protection experience (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

  • Active, valid government-issued driver license is required for this role

  • Basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of control circuits and protective relay applications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Abilities: test basic and routine types of protective relays; lift up to 50 lbs.; manual dexterity; color vision; hearing; climbing; stooping; standing; bending

  • Due to equipment weight limits, individuals in this role have a weight restriction of 290 pounds

  • This position also requires the ability to respond to emergency call-outs

  • This position requires you to work extensively outdoors in the elements and different weather conditions operating machinery

  • Must live within a reasonable travel range (1 hour) of the assigned office to effectively be able to respond to call-outs, outages and/or other emergencies

  • This position will require a valid driver license as to operate a Dominion Energy vehicle or a vehicle on the behalf of Dominion Energy

System Protection Technician T2:

  • 1-2 years directly related experience including, but not limited to, electrical, electro-mechanical, system protection and/or utility scale protection experience (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

  • Active, valid government-issued driver license is required for this role

  • Basic understanding of operation and maintenance of protective relay and control applications and substation equipment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Abilities: Test basic to moderately complex types of protective relays, remote terminal units, power line carrier and metering equipment; plan and organize basic substation construction projects

  • Abilities: test basic and routine types of protective relays; lift up to 50 lbs.; manual dexterity; color vision; hearing; climbing; stooping; standing; bending

  • Due to equipment weight limits, individuals in this role have a weight restriction of 290 pounds

  • This position also requires the ability to respond to emergency call-outs

  • 2-3 years of directly related experience including, but not limited to, electrical, electro-mechanical, system protection and/or utility scale protection experience (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications

  • Good understanding of operation and maintenance of protective relay and control applications and substation equipment;

  • Knowledge of: Company commissioning and maintenance work practices and acceptance test criteria;

  • Operation and maintenance of control circuits, protective relay applications and substation equipment;

  • Fault simulation files, protective relays, associated communications systems, and SCADA infrastructure;

  • Interpret control drawings, schematics, and equipment nameplates.

  • Active, valid government-issued driver license is required for this role

  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of control circuits and protective relay applications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Abilities: test basic and routine types of protective relays; lift up to 50 lbs.; manual dexterity; color vision; hearing; climbing; stooping; standing; bending

Dominion Voltage Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineer for our Richmond, Virginia location. This role applies engineering expertise to the electric distribution grid to leverage the new capabilities associated with technologies and applications.

This role will work on the engineering of a cutting-edge distribution control and analysis platform and create new product requirements through an in-depth knowledge of distribution software and a learned expertise in EDGE products. This role will help analyze voltage a power measurement data for research and analysis. The product and engineering knowledge will be applied both in customer support analysis and on-site in helping new customers install and integrate the EDGE software solution.

Specific details and responsibilities include:

Preferred candidates will be familiar with distribution modeling software and interacting with third party engineering teams.

Data analysis skills including, but not limited to, statistical techniques and/or machine learning. Electric distribution experience preferred as well as IT skills sufficient to interact with databases and deploy software in our test environment.

Electrical Engineering with Power Systems experience is strongly desired.

Performs and/or reviews engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design. Provides cost analysis as needed and develops recommendation based on calculations (e.g. cost for equipment upgrade) for management review.

Under direction of supervisor or work leader, exercises independence in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard or well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Rejects invoices when incorrectly billed and/or insufficient information is provided.

  • Verifies and ensures invoices are accurately billed based on Purchase Order (PO) terms and conditions.

  • Coordinates with external and internal department personnel to solve problems, implement solutions, or provide background and analysis for system and business process issues, especially as it pertains to labor and equipment charges in billing systems.

  • Utilizes knowledge of the company, its business units, department, and policies to administer ongoing operations of various automated payment processes; reviews and resolves invoice and payment problems; researches and resolves vendor questions and issues.

  • Partners with BU Operating Group Requisitioners, Supply Chain Buyers and Vendor contacts regarding PO issues.

  • Provides guidance and assistance to employees with less experience.

  • Trains and communicates with and assist vendors and business unit partners with inquiries and reconciliation, especially as it pertains to labor and equipment charges in billing systems.

  • May assist with Sarbanes Oxley review requirements.

  • Enters, updates, and verifies information in the Supplemental Charges System and other systems that interface with SAP for generating payments to vendors.

  • May include preparing 1099 forms across the fleet for submittal to the IRS.

Distinguished from Engineer I by increased complexity in application of engineering skills required. Job Summary

Dominion Energy is installing 1,000MWac of solar generating capacity per year. The Solar Project Construction group manages the execution of solar projects from 1MW to 150+MW through Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) contracts. The group is organized into several sequential teams; Development, Diligence, Pre-Construction, Execution, and Close-Out. Three Project Engineers are needed, and will be assigned to Execution teams, which oversee daily contractor activities during construction of new solar projects. These Project Engineers will work on teams lead by Construction Project Managers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting the solar project management team by managing specific portions of the project, particularly technical issues.

  • Coordination with internal stakeholders including Site Owner's Representatives, Operations, Project Controls, Technical Services, Business Development, Tax, Real Estate, Environmental, Safety, and Supply Chain.

  • Coordination with external stakeholders, including counterparts in the EPC's organization, permitting agencies, and Owners Engineers.

  • Working with a cross-functional team that includes project managers, engineers, permitting specialists, construction oversight personnel, environmental compliance coordinators, contracts and financial analysts, real estate analysts, safety specialists, and operations personnel.

  • Participating in status update meetings with EPC contractors.

  • Overseeing and monitoring construction progress, ensuring compliance with EPC contract requirements, technical specifications, and permitting requirements.

  • Participating in site walks with Environmental Compliance Coordinators to monitor permit compliance.

  • Managing project RFI and NCR logs.

  • Overseeing plant commissioning processes and participating in punchlist/turnover walkdowns with Solar Operations.

  • Overseeing punch list completion, facilitating communication with operations, and reviewing contractor deliverables.

Job Responsibilities Continued

  • Preparing weekly reporting for internal project stakeholders.

  • Reviewing EPC deliverables, including specifications, performance test reports, and as-built design drawings for completeness and contract compliance.

  • Reviewing third party reports, usually environmental inspection reports, to monitor EPC performance, and providing recommendations to the EPC.

  • Managing turnover documentation process at key project milestones.

  • Reviewing and providing technical input on contract Change Orders, Contractor Notices, Milestone Completion Certificates, and other commercial documents.

  • Collaborating with peer Project Engineers to compare processes, procedures, and issues to ensure consistency across the project portfolio.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Will report to a Manager - Construction Projects and will be assigned to a team led by a Construction Project Manager. Three positions are available, and they will be assigned to an active construction team. Expect 75%+ travel via a temporary assignment on one or more solar project sites in Virginia.

Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of an Assistant Renewable Energy Technician are a full range of duties associated with the operations and maintenance of Dominion Energy's renewable energy and battery storage facilities, both energized and deenergized. An Assistant Renewable Energy Technician will develop skills to prepare themselves for potential advancement in Renewable Operations and Maintenance. The majority of work will be performed outside in all types of weather conditions. The position requires strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and interest.

Specific functions include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Ensuring safety and environmental rules and regulations are observed.

  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance at renewable energy and battery storage sites.

Assistant Renewable Energy Technicians: The starting pay rate will be $24.06 hour advancing progressively to $25.54 per hour after nine months of service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

0-3 years of experience working in the renewable energy field or 0-3 years of experience working in the commercial or industrial electrical or I&C fields with familiarity of solar renewables

Other required knowledge, skills and abilities include:

- Lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis

- Carry up to 60 pounds

- Work on ladders

- Walk significant distances at a time

- Must be on call for overtime (nights, weekends and holidays) and quickly respond for emergent restorations

- Use electrical maintenance and hand tools

- Operate company provided vehicles on public roadways

- Computer application aptitude (Microsoft Office, Work Management Systems, SCADA systems etc.)

- Work outside in all weather environments

- Successful completion of company provided training program.

Job Summary

This position manages the development engineering, acquisition diligence, permit design, and approval phases of major company owned solar projects from 20 to 800 MW ac including business development support, site development, engineering evaluations, project design and permitting, and scope of work development in preparation for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, permit completion, site construction activities, generation facility commissioning, and transition to commercial operation for our growing regulated utility solar fleet. Supports all phases of project development and management of specific portions of project budget and schedule in advance of corporate governance and state corporation commission filings. This is a lead management role on the Solar Project Construction team for major complex solar projects exceeding $100M capital expenditures per project. This position will work collaboratively with the Dominion Energy business development, real estate, transmission interconnection, environmental, contracts, legal, and other project pre-construction managers and staff to develop cost-effective projects to be delivered on time and on budget.

Projects are expected to span over several years and may require travel. This position is responsible for convening a team environment to define scope, schedule, and costs and will participate in defining the overall implementation strategy of projects. This position will provide executive updates and progress reports as directed and be responsible for developing the staffing plan to meet project objectives. This position is expected to have a staff including direct reports, contractors, and matrixed employees. Assist Director and others in project reviews including forecasting project scope, schedule, and cost performance. Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking motivated and experienced Engineering candidates to be part of the Electric Transmission Quality Assurance group. Multiple positions are available, which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Candidates are to indicate their preferences at which level they are applying for (please select all which candidate would like to be considered for).

All positions are located in Glen Allen, VA. Positions are available within two of our core engineering teams: System Protection or Inverter Based Resources (IBR). Candidates are to indicate their team preferences and will be considered for the team which they choose (Indicate both if you would like to be considered for both positions).

System Protection duties will include but are not limited to:

- Interface with field teams gathering related equipment ratings data and protective relay settings. Field teams engage in active construction and other work activities in electrical substations.

- Compare this field evidence to existing databases, drawings, and settings for accuracy.

- Record and research any issues discovered.

- Pursue the correction of any discovered issues.

- Interface with internal NERC compliance team to evaluate different issues discovered and how to remediate them from happening in the future.

Inverter Based Resources (IBR) duties will include but are not limited to:

- Interface with customers and other relevant engineering teams to gathering data integral to the commissioning and interconnection of Inverter Based Resources (IBR).

- Perform field evaluations of IBR interconnection sites and gather data to compare to the provided data.

- Record and research any issues discovered.

- Pursue the correction of any discovered issues.

- Interface with different teams to evaluate issues discovered and how to remediate them before a site can be fully commissioned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Engineer I: 0-2+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Engineer II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Engineer III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of engineering theories and principles.

  • Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.

  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).

  • Strong personal computer skills.

  • Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.

  • Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.

  • Knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.).

  • Equally effective working independently or in team environment.

  • Proven decision making skills.

  • Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills

REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:

For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:

  • Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

  • Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or

  • Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

  • Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Levels in Series:

  • Level I: Developmental, entry-level job series

  • Level II: Fully competent in job series.

  • Level III: Senior, highest proficiency level in series.

Job Summary

Non-licensed Operators operate the turbine generator and reactor support systems while gaining the requisite knowledge and experience to become licensed Reactor Operators. This role ensures that primary and secondary plant equipment operates properly by executing operational surveillance procedures, surveying and recording readings on equipment, and implementing prescribed operational procedures.

Job duties include:

  • Locally operate the turbine generator and reactor support systems while gaining the requisite knowledge and experience to become licensed Reactor Operators

  • Monitor and control equipment and associated systems

  • Perform minor maintenance

  • Execute operational surveillance procedures to ensure that equipment and systems are functioning safely.

  • Survey and record readings on plant equipment to detect any potential problems

  • Assist in coordinating maintenance and surveillance activities

  • Hang and remove plant safety tags

  • Assist in refueling operations

  • Assist in preparing, transferring, loading and unloading nuclear fuel elements

  • Assist in development and implementation of training programs

  • Provide relief for other positions as required and work without assistance in job areas where sufficient knowledge and training are present

  • Participate in on-the-job training

  • Participates as a member of station fire brigade and functions as a fire brigade leader

This position is represented by the Bargaining Agreement between Dominion and the Local Union 50 of the IBEW. The starting hourly rate is $44.81 topping out with license at $61.65 upon successful completion of Dominion Energy's development program. These rates are effective April 1, 2024 - April 1, 2025 and are subject to mandatory bargaining.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successfully completed the Naval Nuclear Propulsion training program and possess a minimum of 4 years hands on experience in the field/fleet in one of the following disciplines; EM, MM, ET or ELT OR;

  • Completed a similar Non-Licensed Operator training program at another commercial nuclear station and possess a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience OR;

  • Have or have held an RO or SRO license at a nuclear facility

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Engineering is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of Math

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot assigned systems and equipment

  • The ability to operate various equipment and maintenance tools

  • Willingness to study and learn while on and off the job

  • Excellent reasoning ability

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Must be a self starter with the ability to quickly diagnose equipment issues

  • Ability to interface well with peers and supervisors

  • Must possess leadership qualities

  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift

  • Responsible for coordinating and providing management oversight to assigned NERC compliance programs, including understanding, interpreting, and providing technical assistance for new NERC initiatives.

  • Develops and maintains NERC compliance program administration documentation, outlining internal roles and responsibilities of the program leads.

  • Leads, guides, and develops compliance program leads.

  • Supports development of standards that preserve and enhance reliability of the bulk power system and can be fairly administered for assets and service obligations.

  • Identifies standards that may have a business impact on Dominion Energy and effectively communicates with affected Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), compliance program leads, and responsible management regarding impact on operations or business processes.

  • Coordinates, documents, reviews, consolidates, and routes for leadership approval the company's responses to NERC inquiries.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and comments on NERC technical standards under development.

  • Provides company technical assessments on NERC compliance documentation from internal/external auditors or peer utility reviews.

  • Ensures appropriate communications across all registered affiliates on numerous compliance expectations.

  • Represents company interests in regional and/or national committees on NERC reliability matters.

  • Supports technical and content review of all materials posted on SharePoint Site and within compliance documentation files.

  • Assesses, identifies, and prioritizes NERC compliance risks based on regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for identifying new and/or improvements to content and format of NERC program documents, initiatives, and internal controls.

  • Keeps up to date on current NERC trends and issues to design, implement, and administer NERC compliance programs.

  • Develops and provides presentations on NERC-related matters to promote and inform non-executive, executive, and external audiences.

  • Works with internal audit group in leading, planning, and coordinating quality compliance reviews (self-audits).

  • Prioritizes and leads integration of business tools and IT applications to effectively monitor and develop documentation necessary to ensure full NERC compliance.

  • Functions as subject matter expert to both internal and external audiences, including NERC audits.

  • Maintains an internal task tracking tool to ensure compliance activities are assigned and completed within required deadlines.

  • Monitors and manages tasks within NERC and regional entity compliance portals, including but not limited to responses to requests, submittals of potential non-compliance issues, and tracking and completion of mitigation plans.

  • Assists with evaluations and reviews of potential non-compliance issues for submittal to regional entities, including development of mitigation plans to prevent recurrence.

  • Develops and reviews compliance training modules.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

7+ years of experience in business process tool development, compliance controls development, and/or project management (NERC, regulatory, utility industry, etc.) with the preferred level of education.

An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.

*Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A master's degree can count as one year experience

  • Prior project management, Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT), and/or Cyber Security experience preferred.

Job Summary

This position plays a lead role in forecasting company's electric system peak demand, energy and sales. Specific responsibilities include the following:

- Maintain and enhance complex economic models which provide essential business information such as historical and predictive analysis of class and end-use sales.

- Analyze electric load drivers such as datacenters, electric vehicles, rooftop solar, Demand Side Management (DSM), Energy Efficiency (EE), and electrification.

- Maintain, enhance, and develop analytic tools, data processes and methods to analyze and present load research and forecast results.

- Mine large volumes of historical billing data (including AMI data) and transform that data into useful information that will help explain customer electric usage over time.

- Support sales and revenue budget development and variance reporting.

- Provide full support of regulatory matters related to the load forecast, including answering discovery requests associated with regulatory filings, as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of related experience. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

- Experience with electric utility forecasting is desired but not required.

- Full knowledge of concepts and applications of statistical analysis, econometrics, and economics or demography;

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;

- Proficiency in the use of one or more major statistical analysis software platforms such as R, Python, SAS, or MetrixND; use of the SQL query language and relational databases;

As a Mechanic Trainee, you will learn to perform maintenance on power station mechanical equipment. Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina - has a Material Tester opening located in Cayce, South Carolina. This position performs testing and inventory functions for rubber goods and performing oil spill response functions. Performs routine tests on rubber goods and maintaining inventory levels and shipping schedules to supply operations and support associates with rubber gloves, blankets, line hose, and/or mechanical jumpers.
