POSITION SUMMARY
Performs all aspects of sterile processing functions to support the needs of the hospital.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Decontaminates, inspects, and maintains reusable instruments to prepare items for high temperature washing, pasteurization, and/or sterilization. Participates in cost containment initiates by monitoring trash and linen for instruments as well as identifying instrument in need of repair. Prepares designated reusable supplies, instruments, etc., in the proper quantity and layout to meet the requirements of physician and medical/surgical needs with minimal errors. Wraps designated supplies according to technical specifications to ensure sterility during handling and/or through its shelf life. Ensures processed items meet technical standards and sterilization through the use of control procedures in the sterilization process. Performs biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards. Operates washers, sterilizers, low temperature sterilizer, cart washer, sonic, and pasteurizer following the manufacturers' operational procedures. Responds to patient care requests for delivery of processed supplies and instruments. Acts as a core preceptor in orientation of processing technicians. Utilized as a resource for basic sterilization/processing problems. Cleans and tests patient care equipment between each patient use. Completes Bio-Medical service request forms for any malfunctioning equipment. Documents productivity by recording functions completed on daily work sheets. Inspects linens for tears, stains, etc. Sends damaged for repair or disposal according to departmental procedures. Processes linen, such as, sorting, folding, counting, stacking, packing, according to departmental policy. Label instruments clearly and correctly following departmental policy and procedures. Performs other duties as directed.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills: Requires proficiency in technical procedures and to familiarity with a broad range of surgical instruments. Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer. Must be able to differentiate colors, and operate sterilizer, washer-sterilizer, pasteurizer, computer, etc.
Certification: Certification as a Central Service Technician

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Under the general direction of the Security Manager or Director, the supervisor is primarily responsible for the coordination of security operations on the shifts.
Ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, medical staff, employees, volunteers, and visitors. Assist with the presentation of the safety session at the monthly new employee general orientation. Assist in developing department goals and objectives, and implements policies and procedures to ensure consistent departmental operation. Assists with the department operations budget process, to ensure that the department operates within set standards. Prepares departmental reports and reports for senior management, as required. Maintains a protective and preventive security system, and monitors security operations. Ensures that all rounds, schedules, and directives are maintained on all shifts. Maintains a visitor control and access procedure, including an employee identification system and lock and key control system. Inquires into and investigates matters pertaining to both alleged losses and thefts, and wrongful acts of individuals affecting the hospital's security. Reviews all incidents involving security, and keeps administration informed of such incidents and developments. Maintains and oversees a parking system suited to the hospital's and other related business units needs. Controls, issues, and monitors parking privileges consistent with hospital policies. Assists with the maintenance of department equipment, supplies, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff to include monthly fire drills. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in the security field. Participates in hospital/medical staff committees as required. Attends and serves on professional/civil service organizations as hospital representative. Interview potential candidates for employment in the Security Department. Handle any type of disciplinary action through the Positive Discipline program to include attendance management. Responsible for maintaining accurate payroll information on the current timekeeping system. Reviews officer reports daily to ensure accuracy and thoroughness. Maintains a professional appearance and ensures that officers are as well by performing daily line inspections. Completes employee performance evaluations. Performs Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to demonstrate communication and leadership skills. Associates degree in security or a related field; or experience in security or a related field is required. Must deal with a variety of situations with potential for stressful conditions. Must obtain (CHSO) Basic Certification through I.A.H.S.S. within 6 months of assignment. Must have a valid drivers license and compliance with Driving Criteria in Risk Management policy and procedure 125.43. Must have PC utilization knowledge and operational skills to include word processing, spreadsheet and data base programs (Microsoft Office). Must have in-depth knowledge of normal security systems procedures and office administration. Must have working knowledge of key control and parking operations.

Contributes to the identification of life cycle and developmental stage and documents the health education, environmental, and discharge needs on admission and throughout the patients hospital stay. Recognizes routine and urgent patient needs. Initiates action and notifies the RN. Performs safely in urgent and emergency situations based on collected data. Collaborates with the RN and other members of the health care team toward the planning of patient care and identification of discharge needs. Supervisory and peer evaluation reflect evidence of cooperation and contributions to plan of care. Prioritizes and implements the plan of care as delegated by the RN. Provides appropriate medications, interventions, and treatment in a safe, accurate, and timely manner and documents according to policy. Documents presence of patient/significant other being involved in care. Contributes to the evaluation of patient progress toward identified goals in the plan of care and revises in collaboration with the RN. Guidelines are adhered to regarding documentation of interventions/evaluative notes
:: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of accredited practical nursing program (to include N.A.P.N.E.S. pharmacology) with subsequent licensure in appropriate state. Skills: Must have completed approved EKG class or willing to complete if requested. License: LPN License in appropriate state. Certification: Must have current BCLS certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills: Previous psychiatric experience
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention during orientation is required.

Performs routine and special blood specimen collection for all age specific patients.
ACCOUNTABILITIES - All Essential to the Role
Collects products or specimens for basic procedures and may perform point-of-care testing using proper techniques. Follows strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis. Assists in the care of the patient prior to, during and after specimen collection. Determines, from like samples, combinations of tests and the associated acceptable minimum volumes. Knowledgeable of pre-analytic variables, which may affect specimen analysis. Familiar with test synonyms and abbreviations, and cross-referencing tests to specimen types. Utilizes laboratory computer information system to include all work aides and shortcuts within the system. Utilizes quality assurance data to enhance the services rendered by the section. Recommends changes in procedures to address quality issues and provide customer/patient satisfaction. Performs and documents quality control procedures. Acts as a resource and is a liaison between phlebotomy staff and Laboratory /Point of Care Team. Cross trained in defined core job functions and patient care departments. Routinely perform difficult specimen collections, such as re-draws and misses. Assists in the training of new associates or students. As needed, performs all pre-analytic tasks associated with sample preparation including, but not limited to, centrifugation, decanting, and specimen packaging. Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies by attending mandatory in-services and continuing laboratory education and participating in continuous quality improvement. Maintains and upgrades personal professional development. Maintains appropriate par levels and organizes supplies and equipment in work areas as assigned. Notifies appropriate associate when re-order levels are reached, and equipment needs to be repaired. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

License/Certification/Experience:
A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR one year phlebotomy experience.
Successful completion of an academic program which included substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience (i.e.: 3+ week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional registration preferred [i.e., PBT(ASCP)]
1 year experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the Respiratory or Radiology department leadership. No direct reports.
POSITION SUMMARY
Key member of a patient-centric care delivery model for high-quality service within the hospital setting. Performs at or above the standards of care set for the superior patient experience in clinical and non-clinical settings. Will learn how to proficiently and effectively navigate through multiple information technology platforms/applications, equipment, and processes to provide the best support, practices/protocols and value-based care.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintains departmental equipment and facilities in designated areas in a clean, orderly condition and in compliance with infection control guidelines.
Provides excellent patient service by documenting information accurately, promptly, and legibly in order to meet regulatory or medical record requirements. Utilizes medical charts, forms, practice management systems and all forms of electronic communication efficiently.
Provides for a safe patient experience through adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards and reports any potential equipment malfunctions or safety violations.
Prepares equipment and supplies under the direction of clinical staff
Demonstrates proficiency and skill in EKGs and other activities as directed by a licensed respiratory therapist or radiology technologist
Transportation of patients
Maintains clean and stocked exams or store rooms
Assist clinical staff in procedures and task as directed
Promotes a strong commitment towards achieving outstanding internal and external customer satisfaction and superior patient experience.

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Scope of Service: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies. - Complies with nursing process.
- Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to critical situations involving patients, personnel and visitors in a professional manner.

Licensure/Registration/Certification
- Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR training.
- Specialty certifications as required.
- BSN preferred.
- The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE.
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to attain all health requirements as identified by the organization (i.e., PPD, respirator training, vaccines, as appropriate).
- Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; and prolonged periods of standing. **
- Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry light to heavy patients or equipment. **
- Must be able to lift medium materials, non-material handling; continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling and squatting.
