Position Summary:

Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for hospitals patients, employees, and visitors. Performs lead role for kitchen service activities and the delivery of food in consultation with the Chef, Managers, Supervisors, and Clinical Dietitians.

Accountabilities:

Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients/clients served, i.e. infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Prepares, seasons, and cooks food. Cuts, pours, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes. Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, including choppers, slicers, mixers, and blenders. Previews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of meals, vegetables, soups, salads, and desserts to be obtained and prepared. Responsible for menu selection and completion. Plans and coordinates cooking schedules so that meals will be ready at required times. Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Alerts Manager to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, or other unusual conditions. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards. Ensures that sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process as well as throughout the workday. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education: None required.

Skills: Capable of operating kitchen equipment; have good math and communication skills; be able to read and speak English; have the ability to learn how to change and convert recipes as needed and to learn special diet production needs. The Candidate needs to be able to deal effectively with a fast-paced environment and be open to new ideas and be willing to take instruction. Must have a basic understanding of culinary basics: cooking temperatures and proper labeling/rotation of food product.

Position Summary

Our Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Our techs are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and common areas throughout the Toledo Hospital campus within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and a positive patient experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas. Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use. Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety. Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics. Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion. Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling. Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE). Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).

Practices critical thinking skills. Demonstrates personal accountability and shows appropriate respect to co-workers, patients and visitors. Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure problems or concerns are followed through and resolved. Demonstrates knowledge of facility safety requirements. POSITION SUMMARY Provide technical support to Ophthalmologist/Optometrist. Patient-care duties may include obtaining and recording of medical histories and patient ocular history, as well as performing patient specific ophthalmic testing/exams and administering eye drops prior to the patient seeing the provider.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Review patient's chart prior to exam to anticipate testing, procedures, and as needed instruments, supplies or equipment. Obtain patient history, update medications and medical procedures. Primary Duties:

Schedules patient's outpatient/inpatient testing appointments with hospital as requested by the physician. Provides patient with complete instructions for test preparation along with directions to facility, time and date of appointment. Ensures that patients are referred to a facility approved by their insurance carrier. Obtains the necessary approvals for patient referrals for, emergency room care, hospital admissions, physical therapy, etc.; working with the various insurance companies. May maintain a log on all outpatient tests scheduled. Informs physician of patients not having tests done as scheduled. Documents information accurately, promptly and legibly, utilizing patient charts/forms, practice management system and/or EMR software system, as needed. Sends physicians their schedules for the next day/weekend via email and/or fax. Takes calls from hospitals and sends pages to the physicians as needed Distributes office mail on a daily basis Distributes office faxes on a daily basis to the appropriate staff members. Participates in practice staff meetings. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High school graduate or its equivalent Skills:

Requires working knowledge of medical terminology, third-party billing, and referral procedures. Must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment towards achieving customer satisfaction. POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction, manages technologists and ancillary staff assigned within multiple specific areas of the department. Manages daily operation of these services, to include budgetary, capital acquisition, purchasing, staffing, etc.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Organizes and plans, according to priority, all work performed in the manager's specific areas of the department. Ensures that patient flow is scheduled consistent with staffing and departmental parameters. Assists and advises lead technologists in the performance of their job. Directs corrective action for problems with image quality, customer or physician complaints, inter or intradepartmental conflicts/program changes, etc. Takes necessary actions related to staffing, interviewing, morale and work methods and carries out appropriate action in all human resource matters for assigned staff. Assumes certain duties of the administrative director during director's absence and/or as assigned. Conducts performance evaluations. Performs disciplinary and other administrative action in accordance with positive performance program and hospital policy. Interprets and carries out departmental and hospital policies and procedures, where applicable, for assigned staff. Evaluates and recommends procurement of special supplies, capital equipment, program changes or expansion, etc., as appropriate. Develops preliminary annual budget for areas of responsibility. Confers with the administrative director on new procedures and changes. Develops and ensures appropriate implementation. Works closely with outside service personnel to ensure timely repair of equipment. Assist in orientation of new associates as required. Demonstrates competency in using the radiology information and imaging systems (RIS, PACS, etc.) for the purpose of correctly ordering exams and other data input and retrieval (compliance responsibilities). Primary Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population dependent on the area assigned. This individual performs the duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned, under minimal supervision from the Respiratory Care Department leadership team and the Medical Directors of Respiratory Care. The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs these assigned duties and responsibilities according to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures approved by the Medical Directors and Administration. This individual will frequently make independent decisions regarding modification of therapy in accordance with clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Achieves and maintains a level of competency to perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice, as required per business unit, in accordance to departmental competency standards, which include general care, critical care, emergency care and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, the following: - General Care: patient identification and assessment, medical gas delivery, medication administration via nebulizers and MDI/DPI, bronchopulmonary hygiene and hyperinflation therapy - Critical Care: initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation and extubation; set-up, calibration, insertion (arterial lines) and maintenance of indwelling lines and catheters, and high risk newborn deliveries - Emergency Care: responds to rapid responses and emergency codes; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participates in patient stabilization, internal and external transports - Diagnostic Care: blood sampling and analysis, specimen collection, continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters and electrocardiograms (EKG) Note: critical tests and values will be reported in a timely manner per Hospital Policy.

  2. Safely assembles, operates and trouble shoots therapeutic and diagnostic equipment required for patient care, including but not limited to, the following: - Gas administration, monitoring and analyzing devices including flow meters and regulators, blenders, cylinders and bulk systems, compressors, analyzers, and pulse oximeters - Mechanical devices, including mechanical ventilators, manometers, gauges, spirometers and EKG machines. - Laboratory equipment for blood gas analysis - Age specific patient care equipment, including resuscitation equipment, oral and nasal airways, endotracheal and tracheal tubes - Equipment disinfection and sterilization

  3. Understands and applies Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines, to provide safe, highly efficient and cost effective care, using evidence based best practice.

  4. Provides educational needs of patients on disease specific process, tobacco cessation and respiratory care services provided, including instruction for home care equipment andmedications.

  5. Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students and residents, as needed. Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others.

  6. Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospital Policies and Procedures for those areas assigned and is able to independently function in those areas.

  7. Completes accurate patient documentation, including billing and productivity standards. Participates in creating a plan of care, evaluate achievement of identified goals, record results and communicate pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team

  8. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by leadership within the scope of training and practice, including the ability to perform essential duties in other business units as part of a shared staffing plan, as required.

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. POSITION SUMMARY

Performs routine and special blood specimen collection for all age specific patients.

ACCOUNTABILITIES - All Essential to the Role

Collects products or specimens for basic procedures and may perform point-of-care testing using proper techniques. Follows strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis. Assists in the care of the patient prior to, during and after specimen collection. Determines, from like samples, combinations of tests and the associated acceptable minimum volumes. Knowledgeable of pre-analytic variables, which may affect specimen analysis. Familiar with test synonyms and abbreviations, and cross-referencing tests to specimen types. Utilizes laboratory computer information system to include all work aides and shortcuts within the system. Utilizes quality assurance data to enhance the services rendered by the section. Recommends changes in procedures to address quality issues and provide customer/patient satisfaction. Performs and documents quality control procedures. Acts as a resource and is a liaison between phlebotomy staff and Laboratory /Point of Care Team. Cross trained in defined core job functions and patient care departments. Routinely perform difficult specimen collections, such as re-draws and misses. Assists in the training of new associates or students. As needed, performs all pre-analytic tasks associated with sample preparation including, but not limited to, centrifugation, decanting, and specimen packaging. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR one year phlebotomy experience.

Successful completion of an academic program which included substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience (i.e.: 3+ week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting).

Physical Demands:

Must be able to continuously move between hospital departments, and floors while maintaining confidentiality on workstations.

Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to

inquiries between all levels of hospital staffing, patient care and requires effective interpersonal skills.

Must be able to tolerate exposure to disease bearing specimens, blood, and body

fluids, odorous chemicals, carcinogens, mutagens, low level radiation, electrical hazards, and flammable liquids. Must be prepared to wear appropriate PPE and follow PPE guidelines.

Must be able to differentiate colors.

Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

Must be able to move, push, lift or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.,

up to 75% of the time.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, potentially 100% of shift.

Shifts for this position are 12 hours in length, covering the patient care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays and weekends.

Position Summary

Key member of a patient centric care delivery model for high quality and service within the office setting. Performs at or above the standards of care set for the superior patient experience in clinical and non-clinical settings. Able to proficiently and effectively navigate through multiple information technology platforms, EHR work queues and applications to provide and support best practices/protocols, value based care, supporting, implementing, and demonstrating the Core Values of ProMedica.

Immediately greets patients and visitors as they make contact with the practice. Registers new patients and verifies patient demographics and insurance information on existing patients as they arrive for their appointment. Answers and/or triages patient telephone calls, records complete and accurate messages and obtains necessary instructions from the provider, office manager, nurses, etc. when appropriate. Coordinates the scheduling of patient appointments following the appropriate processes and procedures. Reschedules patients for follow up as requested by providers. Collects the appropriate co-payment, deductible or visit fee; as well as, outstanding balances when appropriate. Provides excellent patient service by documenting information accurately, promptly and legibly in order to meet regulatory requirements and practice standards. Utilizes medical charts, forms, practice management systems and all forms of electronic communication efficiently. Communicates professionally with patients, providers, and co-workers at all times. Supports internal and external customers, to maintain a superior customer experience across the continuum of care through teamwork. Maintains the provider schedule to meet customer service, access, and productivity standards of the office. Assists clinical staff and/or providers with outgoing phone calls to patients, pharmacies, or other providers as appropriate. Participates in practice staff meetings May function as a Medical Scribe. Must follow System Policy SP17-14 while functioning in this role. Accurately completes and submits the daily charge and payment reconciliation process. Performs other duties as assigned.

High school graduate or its equivalent. Must be able to understand directions (written and verbal), communicate and respond to inquires. Able to promote a strong commitment towards achieving outstanding internal and external customer satisfaction. General computer and typing proficiency. Independent judgment and excellent interpersonal skills requiring minimal supervision and guidance. Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service or clerical setting.

Position Summary:

The Environmental Services Tech is responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards for assigned areas. Follows all safety and health standards.

Accountabilities:

Follows the Seven Step Cleaning Procedures and department Floor Care Maintenance Procedures for assigned areas. Thoroughly cleans patients' rooms and/or patient areas. Cleans lobby areas, public restrooms, stairwells, corridors and elevators. Vacuums and spot cleans carpets. Flexes to meet department needs and objectives. Practices cost effective measures. Maintains confidentiality in all matters regarding patients, the hospital, the department and human resources. Complies with HIPAA regulations and patient Bill of Rights. Maintains responsibility for own professional development. Must be able to wear N95 or CAPR (Controlled Air Purifying Respirator) for applicable isolation rooms. Performs other duties as directed.

Required Qualifications:

Age - At least 16 years of age. Please note: employees under the age of 18 will be scheduled in accordance to state labor laws.

Skills - Can demonstrate effective use of computers and/or mobile devices for daily job performance activities. Ability to read/write English at 9th grade level. Preferred Qualifications:

Working Conditions:

Accountabilities:

Uses proper technique for pulling and rotating stock and labeling and dating of foods. Maintains foods at proper temperatures to assure safety and freshness following H.A.C.C.P. principles. Informs other duties, verbal or written, as assigned by a supervisor.

Tray Line Area

Readies tray service line for the appropriate meal. Portions food to patient tray from various stations on serving line according to diet and menu. Readies tray service line for the appropriate meal. Portions food to patient tray from various stations on serving line according to diet and menu. Dumps trash. Uses good control and correct usage of detergents and cleaning supplies. Maintains cleanliness and order of areas. Follows sanitation codes.

Cafeteria Area

Provide fast, friendly, accurate and clean service to each customer. Acknowledge customers promptly and greet each customer with a smile. Prepare foods and set up service area as designed by timeline. Ensure areas are replenished with food when and where needed. Keep foods looking fresh. Must operate cash register according to departmental policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and efficient sales transactions. Know and observe all conditions of the cash handler's agreement. Ensure proper signage is displayed. Have a working knowledge of food prices. Performs minimal cooking (grill, fryer, pizza) methods to obtain a quality end product. Completes cleaning assignment when scheduled and/or as needed.

Production Area

Maintains cleanliness and sanitation for production and all other Dietary areas according to designated outlines in regard to floor and equipment. Completes designated work timelines. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all walk-in coolers. Stocks inventory and fill Dietary requisitions. Rotates stock and maintains the order and cleanliness of the Dietary storage areas. Labels and dates foods per Dietary policies.

Skills:

Must have knowledge of weights and measurements. Requires the ability to make change and keep records accurately. Must be able to follow directions, communicate and respond to inquiries/requires effective interpersonal skills. Able to verbalize information to customers about product and/or recipe contents.
