Job Description

Performs all aspects of sterile processing functions to support the needs of the hospital.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise

  1. Decontaminates, inspects, and maintains reusable instruments to prepare items for high temperature washing, pasteurization, and/or sterilization.

  2. Participates in cost containment initiates by monitoring trash and linen for instruments as well as identifying instrument in need of repair.

  3. Prepares designated reusable supplies, instruments, etc., in the proper quantity and layout to meet the requirements of physician and medical/surgical needs with minimal errors.

  4. Wraps designated supplies according to technical specifications to ensure sterility during handling and/or through its shelf life.

  5. Ensures processed items meet technical standards and sterilization through the use of control procedures in the sterilization process. Performs biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards.

  6. Operates washers, sterilizers, low temperature sterilizer, cart washer, sonic, and pasteurizer following the manufacturers' operational procedures.

  7. Responds to patient care requests for delivery of processed supplies and instruments.

  8. Acts as a core preceptor in orientation of processing technicians. Utilized as a resource for basic sterilization/processing problems.

  9. Cleans and tests patient care equipment between each patient use. Completes Bio-Medical service request forms for any malfunctioning equipment.

  10. Documents productivity by recording functions completed on daily work sheets.

  11. Inspects linens for tears, stains, etc. Sends damaged for repair or disposal according to departmental procedures.

  12. Processes linen, such as, sorting, folding, counting, stacking, packing, according to departmental policy.

  13. Label instruments clearly and correctly following departmental policy and procedures.

  14. Performs other duties as directed.

Job Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Skills: Requires proficiency in technical procedures and to familiarity with a broad range of surgical instruments. Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer. Must be able to differentiate colors, and operate sterilizer, washer-sterilizer, pasteurizer, computer, etc.

Certification: Certification as a Central Service Technician

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations. Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals, heat, and fumes. Must be able to frequently move, lift and/or carry light to very heavy weight materials and equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Functioning as a team member within a patient centric care delivery model for high quality and service within the practice setting. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients' colleagues, and outside agencies.

  2. Works closely with the provider and leadership to continually improve the patient experience though daily patient care, clerical support, ongoing projects and assumes additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner.

  3. Prepares the patient for the visit by taking vital signs, documenting and order entry within the EPIC system, arranging and coordinating support and ancillary services for patient care, preparing patient rooms for visits, stocking exam rooms, preparing schedules, and providing general support to the providers and patients. Performs specific specialized tests (i.e. pulmonary function tests, phlebotomy procedures) as needed.

  4. Provides for a safe patient experience through adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards and reports any potential equipment malfunctions or safety violations.

  5. May support a variety of clerical office functions including calls, documentation, scanning, etc.

The Respiratory Care Equipment Supply Coordinator will assume primary responsibility for maintaining respiratory care equipment in clean, working order. POSITION SUMMARY

Functioning as a team member within a patient centric care delivery model for high quality and service within the practice setting. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients' colleagues, and outside agencies.

  2. Works closely with the provider and leadership to continually improve the patient experience though daily patient care, clerical support, ongoing projects and assumes additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner.

  3. Prepares the patient for the visit by taking vital signs, documenting and order entry within the EPIC system, arranging and coordinating support and ancillary services for patient care, preparing patient rooms for visits, stocking exam rooms, preparing schedules, and providing general support to the providers and patients. Performs specific specialized tests (i.e. pulmonary function tests, phlebotomy procedures) as needed.

  4. Provides for a safe patient experience through adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards and reports any potential equipment malfunctions or safety violations.

  5. May support a variety of clerical office functions including calls, documentation, scanning, etc.

  6. Within scope of Medical Assistant, demonstrates clinical knowledge and focuses on customer service to answer and triage patient telephone calls. Records complete and accurate messages and obtains necessary instructions from providers and nurses, etc. when appropriate.

  7. Supports internal and external customers, to maintain a superior customer experience across the continuum of care through teamwork. Communicates professionally with patients, providers, and co-workers at all times. Actively participates and is engaged in staff meetings.

  8. Collaborates with leadership and other staff to recommend changes to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent.

Performs all aspects of sterile processing functions to support the needs of the hospital.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise

  1. Decontaminates, inspects, and maintains reusable instruments to prepare items for high temperature washing, pasteurization, and/or sterilization.

  2. Participates in cost containment initiates by monitoring trash and linen for instruments as well as identifying instrument in need of repair.

  3. Prepares designated reusable supplies, instruments, etc., in the proper quantity and layout to meet the requirements of physician and medical/surgical needs with minimal errors.

  4. Wraps designated supplies according to technical specifications to ensure sterility during handling and/or through its shelf life.

  5. Ensures processed items meet technical standards and sterilization through the use of control procedures in the sterilization process. Performs biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards.

  6. Operates washers, sterilizers, low temperature sterilizer, cart washer, sonic, and pasteurizer following the manufacturers' operational procedures.

  7. Responds to patient care requests for delivery of processed supplies and instruments.

  8. Acts as a core preceptor in orientation of processing technicians. Utilized as a resource for basic sterilization/processing problems.

  9. Cleans and tests patient care equipment between each patient use. Completes Bio-Medical service request forms for any malfunctioning equipment.

  10. Documents productivity by recording functions completed on daily work sheets.

  11. Inspects linens for tears, stains, etc. Sends damaged for repair or disposal according to departmental procedures.

  12. Processes linen, such as, sorting, folding, counting, stacking, packing, according to departmental policy.

  13. Label instruments clearly and correctly following departmental policy and procedures.

  14. Performs other duties as directed.

Job Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Skills: Requires proficiency in technical procedures and to familiarity with a broad range of surgical instruments. POSITION SUMMARY

Functioning as a team member within a patient centric care delivery model for high quality and service within the practice setting. Able to proficiently and effectively navigate through multiple information technology platforms and applications. Renders direct patient care services under supervision demonstrating ProMedica's values to the patient.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients' colleagues, and outside agencies.

  2. Works closely with the provider and leadership to continually improve the patient experience though daily patient care, clerical support, ongoing projects and assumes additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner.

  3. Prepares the patient for the visit by taking vital signs, documenting and order entry within the EPIC system, arranging and coordinating support and ancillary services for patient care, preparing patient rooms for visits, stocking exam rooms, preparing schedules, and providing general support to the providers and patients. Performs specific specialized tests (i.e. pulmonary function tests, phlebotomy procedures) as needed.

  4. Provides for a safe patient experience through adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards and reports any potential equipment malfunctions or safety violations.

  5. May support a variety of clerical office functions including calls, documentation, scanning, etc.

  6. Within scope of Medical Assistant, demonstrates clinical knowledge and focuses on customer service to answer and triage patient telephone calls. Records complete and accurate messages and obtains necessary instructions from providers and nurses, etc. when appropriate.

  7. Supports internal and external customers, to maintain a superior customer experience across the continuum of care through teamwork. Communicates professionally with patients, providers, and co-workers at all times. Actively participates and is engaged in staff meetings.

  8. Collaborates with leadership and other staff to recommend changes to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned that support ProMedica's core values.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent.

Skills:

- Able to promote a strong commitment towards achieving outstanding internal and external customer satisfaction and superior patient experience.

- Able to work independently, prioritize, problem solve and work cooperatively with faculty and staff.

Certification: BLS (CPR), must present a current BLS course card from the AHA at time of employment or obtain certification within 90 days of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a recognized MA program at an accredited college or university.

Years of Experience: 1+ years experience in direct patient care preferred.

Certification: Applicable medical certification preferred (MA, EMT, STNA, etc...)

Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.

Scope of Service:

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • BSN Preferred

  • Current Ohio RN license

  • Current CPR / BLS and ACLS

  • 1 year of Operation Room experience preferred

  • RN experience in an acute setting preferred

Physical and Position Requirements

  • Must be able to be on-site within 30 minutes while on call

  • Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; and prolonged periods of standing

  • Must be able to lift medium materials (50lb max), non-material handling; continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling and squatting

  • Must be able to read and speak the English language

- The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

- Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE.

Physical Demands

ProMedica is looking for candidates with a friendly and helpful attitude to function at our information desks. The concierge will greet and direct patients and visitors. They will assist patients by providing wheelchairs and escort services and as an information source for activities on the hospital campus.

ACCCOUNTABILITIES

  • Greets all patients and visitors in a timely, courteous manner assisting with their individual needs. Directs customers to patient and department location on the hospital campus utilizing appropriate maps.

  • Responds to lobby and customer needs by seeking appropriate solutions to problems and complaints.

  • Assist patients and visitors by providing wheelchair assistance as needed. Notifies appropriate department of patient's arrival when necessary.

  • Screen and release patient information to the public per HIPPA and Confidential Status policies via telephone and/or in person.

  • Monitors and reports potentially suspicious or dangerous customer behavior to Security. Assure safety of lobby guests during fire, weather or emergency situations.

  • Assists guest in locating meeting or public events. Respond to customer questions about hospital, campus and Toledo area directions utilizing the appropriate maps.

  • Supervise activities of the information desk and volunteer Guest Guides. Update and review information desk procedures and hospital wide changes with volunteer Guest Guides.

  • Mentor new department employees and volunteers in the operation of lobby services.

  • Receive and assure delivery of items accepted at the desk.

  • Maintain adequate supply of wheelchairs in lobby vestibule areas. Retrieve chairs from other areas of the hospital. May direct volunteer Guest Guides to assist in retrieval of wheel chairs.

  • Issue meal vouchers to active volunteers.

  • Oversee procedures for the 4 hospitality rooms in the Harris McIntosh Tower using daily Hospitality Room Instructions

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Skills: Must demonstrate good, mature judgement and be able to make independent decisions pertaining to customer inquiries or concerns. Must demonstrate personal attributes such as tact, patience, good grammar, retentive memory, pleasant voice and appearance. Must be able to provide accurate directions; communicate; and respond to inquiries.   • Must be able to move most patients and guest safely in a wheelchair: must be able to occasionally move, lift and/or carry medium weight materials. Must be able to recognize when assistance is required to move or assist a very large or heavy patient.

  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to temperature changes. Requires being outdoors for limited amounts of time in all types of weather.
