POSITION SUMMARY
Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Fills physician orders. Replenish medication surgical kits, automated dispensing machines, and stock requisitions accurately.
Prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile preparations (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition where applicable) safely and accurately using appropriate techniques. Only Pharmacy Technicians who have completed all required competencies will prepare intravenous admixtures
Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies in appropriate locations; Repackages bulk medications in unit-dose packages safely and accurately per established procedures using appropriate techniques
Assists in completing all medication inspections and identifies and removes all outdated and unusable medications.
Collaborates with other health care professionals in meeting departmental goals. Establishes and maintains mechanisms for communication and constructive problem solving with staff. Utilizes a team approach in decision-making and problem solving. Build trust and mutual respects.
Performs training of new employees and in-services current employees in areas of specialization and/or expertise.
Is routinely responsible for special assignments in the area of continuous quality improvement and other projects as assigned by a supervisor.
Provides proper notification for absence or tardiness.
Maintains professional, helpful and courteous relationships with nursing and other hospital employees, patients, and their families.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and responsible manner.
Supports the department in providing a vision for its direction and embraces the change process to achieve the vision.
Fosters the culture of patient safety by using the error prevention techniques.
Coaches and facilitates the growth and development of employees within the department.
Communicates effectively orally and in writing within department as well as to all external customers.
Strives for continuous improvement by focusing on key department systems.
Participates in creating an environment for success through team participation.
Education: High school diploma or GED
License: Certified Pharmacy Technician with Ohio Board of Pharmacy. May be hired with a Technician Trainee License (expires 1 year from receipt) with restrictions in duties and expectation of Certified License being obtained.
Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (either PTCB or ExCPT (NHA) exam permitted)

Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working collaboratively with physicians and ancillary health care personnel. Communicates patient information in a complete, accurate manner while maintaining confidentiality. Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred.

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Scope of Service: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.

- The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE.
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.

The Rapid Response RN has advanced clinical expertise through education and experience. The rapid response RN assesses and stabilizes the patient condition. Rapid response RN collaborates with direct care givers to organized clinical information for communication to the patient's provider.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or be working towards a degree (must complete the degree within 5 years).
Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries, requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
Must have a minimum of 5 years current experience in critical care, emergency room or advanced practice role.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to unit manager. Works under supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with other health care professionals.
POSITION SUMMARY
One on one nursing preceptorship to enhance nursing knowledge, awareness of nursing role, enhancing confidence, acclimation to environment, and socialization to the team. Under supervision of RN preceptor and in collaboration with other care professionals, assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Work one on one with a registered nurse preceptor under direct supervision in the clinical setting. Engage in required didactic educational assignments as scheduled. Participation in progress evaluations required.
Upon completion of the orientation requirements, the nursing apprentice is required to work a minimum of 24 hours a month as a nursing apprentice until transition into the nursing residency in addition to ongoing educational requirements. If a nursing apprentice does not accept or receive a residency position during the designated hiring period for their anticipated graduation date, their position as a nursing apprentice will be transitioned out of the nursing apprentice program and into another appropriate position as available.
Must maintain enrollment in accredited nursing program during Nursing Apprenticeship with exception of graduation from the program and awaiting to take NCLEX exam.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Enrollment in an accredited nursing program and successful completion of first clinical semester.

Patient Population: Chronic Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, Atrial and Ventricular Arrhythmias, Pre and post Stent, PPM Insertion, and ICD Insertion. This unit also takes intermediate overflow patients as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY The EMT-B functions on an Ambulette performing non-emergency transports via wheelchair van. Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to clients during non-emergency transports.

The Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant position will provide basic patient care as assigned under the direct supervision of the professional nurse. The Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant functions as a member of a team, attending the nursing station, patient rooms, and performs clerical and reception functions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Doctoral, Master's or Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or transcripts showing 60 semester hours from an accredited institution indicating 24 semester hours of medical technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 semester hours in chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical technology in any combination OR meet an alternate qualification route for Testing Personnel for High Complexity Testing as detailed in 493.1489
Years of Experience : Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, the CAHEA, or other organization approved by HHS OR meet an alternate experience route for High Complexity Testing Personnel as detailed in 493.1489.
Certification : American Society of Pathology (ASCP) MLS or Categorical eligible at time of hire with certification achieved within one year of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be competent to care for patients of all ages to include infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric population dependent on the area assigned. This individual performs the duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned, under minimal supervision from the Respiratory Care Department leadership team and the Medical Directors of Respiratory Care. The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs these assigned duties and responsibilities according to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures approved by the Medical Directors and Administration. This individual will frequently make independent decisions regarding modification of therapy in accordance with clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Achieves and maintains a level of competency to perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice, as required per business unit, in accordance to departmental competency standards, which include general care, critical care, emergency care and diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to, the following: - General Care: patient identification and assessment, medical gas delivery, medication administration via nebulizers and MDI/DPI, bronchopulmonary hygiene and hyperinflation therapy - Critical Care: initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation and extubation; set-up, calibration, insertion (arterial lines) and maintenance of indwelling lines and catheters, and high risk newborn deliveries - Emergency Care: responds to rapid responses and emergency codes; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participates in patient stabilization, internal and external transports - Diagnostic Care: blood sampling and analysis, specimen collection, continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters and electrocardiograms (EKG) Note: critical tests and values will be reported in a timely manner per Hospital Policy.
Safely assembles, operates and trouble shoots therapeutic and diagnostic equipment required for patient care, including but not limited to, the following: - Gas administration, monitoring and analyzing devices including flow meters and regulators, blenders, cylinders and bulk systems, compressors, analyzers, and pulse oximeters - Mechanical devices, including mechanical ventilators, manometers, gauges, spirometers and EKG machines. - Laboratory equipment for blood gas analysis - Age specific patient care equipment, including resuscitation equipment, oral and nasal airways, endotracheal and tracheal tubes - Equipment disinfection and sterilization
Understands and applies Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines, to provide safe, highly efficient and cost effective care, using evidence based best practice.
Provides educational needs of patients on disease specific process, tobacco cessation and respiratory care services provided, including instruction for home care equipment andmedications.
Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students and residents, as needed. Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others.
Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospital Policies and Procedures for those areas assigned and is able to independently function in those areas.
Completes accurate patient documentation, including billing and productivity standards. Participates in creating a plan of care, evaluate achievement of identified goals, record results and communicate pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team

Position Summary
Our Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Our techs are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and common areas throughout the Toledo Hospital campus within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, as well as other common areas of their job assignment such as rest rooms, nurses' stations, corridors, conference rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, kitchens, offices, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and waiting rooms. Other assigned areas may include surgery OR's, labor and delivery, emergency department and other procedural areas.
Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements as well as proper and safe chemical use.
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies and equipment evidence by properly stocking and restocking environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion.
Removes trash and other waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling.
Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. POSITION SUMMARY
Performs routine and special blood specimen collection for all age specific patients.
ACCOUNTABILITIES - All Essential to the Role
Collects products or specimens for basic procedures and may perform point-of-care testing using proper techniques.
Follows strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis. Assists in the care of the patient prior to, during and after specimen collection.
Determines, from like samples, combinations of tests and the associated acceptable minimum volumes. Knowledgeable of pre-analytic variables, which may affect specimen analysis. Familiar with test synonyms and abbreviations, and cross-referencing tests to specimen types.
Utilizes laboratory computer information system to include all work aides and shortcuts within the system. Utilizes quality assurance data to enhance the services rendered by the section. Recommends changes in procedures to address quality issues and provide customer/patient satisfaction.
Performs and documents quality control procedures.
Acts as a resource and is a liaison between phlebotomy staff and Laboratory /Point of Care Team.
Cross trained in defined core job functions and patient care departments.
Routinely perform difficult specimen collections, such as re-draws and misses.
Assists in the training of new associates or students.
As needed, performs all pre-analytic tasks associated with sample preparation including, but not limited to, centrifugation, decanting, and specimen packaging.

The Assistant working under the direction of a professional nurse provides in the continual observation of assigned patient(s) to meet their safety needs. TYPICAL DUTIES
Functions as an active, cooperative member of the health care team.
Observes patients and reports any obvious change in safety needs or any patient(s) or family communication to the patient's assigned nurse.
Maintains visual contact with the patient at all times.
Responds to patient request as able and refers others to the appropriate nurse.
The Patient Safety Assistant will accompany the patient on any treatments or services out of the patient's room.
Conducts self in accordance with hospital safety policy.
Maintains patient's room in a neat and orderly manner; leaves (two or three) side rails up and bed in low position; leaves call light within reach.
Patient Safety Assistant keeps personal belongings in designated lockers.
Reports to RN for assignment and report at the beginning of the shift prior to going to the patient's room.
Shares information with oncoming staff to provide continuity of care.
Adheres and coordinates breaks with the healthcare team to assure that continual observation is maintained.
Ambulates/meets the activity and positioning needs of the restless/agitated patient.
Communicates all observations and activity to the appropriate nurse, including report to the RN at the end of the shift.
Patient Safety Assistant documents in the patient record, minimally everyone two hours.
Practices universal precautions/standard while sitting with patient(s).
Maintains confidentiality of all information about patients.
Maintains cooperative team relationship with the staff.
Consistently follows customer service standards.
Follows appropriate dress code (business casual with name badge).
High school diploma or GED.
Must have observation, interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to work productively with patients, families and health care personnel.
CPR certified.
Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; and prolonged periods of standing.
Must have basic math skills, read and write, understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills while maintaining a professional manner.
Ability to carry out verbal instructions.
Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital will give our community its first-ever wellness destination. Position Summary:
Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (ie: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) as written in the departmental standards.
Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents outcomes related to nursing diagnosis and patient care problems for each patient. Collaborates with all members of the health care team to promote a seamless patient care continuum. Coordinates patients plan of care through effective shift-to-shift communication.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients and their significant other(s).
Utilizes appropriate techniques necessary to control / prevent infections.
Employs critical thinking skills and sound judgment in all aspects of care Initiates emergency care as necessary and maintains BCLS and other certifications required by the job, i.e. ACLS and PALS.
Addresses patient/family education needs considering patient level of comprehension, style of learning, and discharge needs.
Follows proper chain of command when issues/problems arise and demonstrates appropriate follow-through
Displays professionalism at all times and maintains patient confidentiality. Lives out the Bixby and Herrick Hospital guiding principles and commitment to co-workers and philosophy of care for the department.
Stays current in field of specialty by actively participating in continuing education and maintaining certifications and annual competencies. Actively participates in orienting new staff and contributes to the growth of others.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing - Minimum of three years acute care RN experience
