SOURCING MANAGER (FALCON & DRAGON)
Falcon 9 is the world's first orbital reusable rocket, driving down cost of space entry and making space more accessible. The Dragon spacecraft is the only spacecraft currently flying that is capable of returning significant amounts of cargo to Earth, and is the first private spacecraft to take humans to the space station. Our Falcon & Dragon program provides assured access to space for astronauts, provider for national security payloads, and is critical for the success of Starlink satellites. This role will be integral member of our Falcon & Dragon strategic sourcing team and the supply chain subject matter expert for composite machined part fabrication. Along with managing commodity and supplier strategies, a large focus of this role will be eliminating any risk to hitting rate and setting up turnkey solutions to mass produce cost effective rockets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department including, but not limited to, payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings
Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements to maintain continuous cost reduction programs for controllable expenditures
Communicate, manage, and drive compliance to category strategies
Identify and execute cost reduction projects including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, estimating completion, and project updates
Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement and performance for assigned categories
Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure the appropriate criteria, such as: delivery of business results, cost reduction, quality and timeliness of delivery
Conduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categories
Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department
Manage contracts to ensure the performance of the supplier to contract obligations
Understand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret application of contract to business needs
Maximize value and cost savings benefits while lowering risk through strategic negotiations
Identify and drive year over year cost optimization through reducing usage and eliminating waste within our operations
Establish preferred suppliers for assigned categories
Create and implement management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply base
Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categories
Develop and lead efforts to reduce number of transactions and for assigned categories
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 9+ years of experience working in one or more of the following:
Engineering
Purchasing
Contract negotiation
Material or production planning
Operations or supply chain management
Material cost control
Master production scheduling

HARDWARE DEVELPMENT ENGINEER (SWARM)
SpaceX acquired IoT satellite developer Swarm (http://https/swarm.space/) in 2021 and the team is continuing to grow. Our mission is to connect people and devices from anywhere in the world at the lowest cost.
Swarm has developed the world's smallest two-way communication satellites. Through our constellation we provide low-bandwidth, low-cost connectivity to return data from anywhere on Earth, focusing on regions without cell or Wi-Fi coverage. Our unique economics make Swarm's network, ground hardware, and web platform accessible at the industry's lowest costs to deliver maximum value to customers. Swarm provides IoT tracking and data return services for industrial/sensor networks, particularly those in the maritime shipping, agriculture, energy, and ground transportation industries.
As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will prototype, design, build, and be actively involved in testing customer satellite and satellite components. You will own the entire lifecycle of design, working with other team members to take input, encompass changes, and cull requirements to create new devices that meet an exacting level of precision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rapidly design, develop and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with our satellites
Drive electrical architecture, specification, component selection, circuit board design, implementation, verification, board bring up and debugging

DEVELOPMENT TEST ENGINEER, STRUCTURES (STARSHIP)
This position is a test engineer for the Starship Structural Test team. The team develops, design, builds, and executes large system-level static and dynamic structural tests. The test engineer role is highly multidisciplinary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with vehicle engineers to develop and execute static and dynamic system level structural tests from conception, including test article and test stand configuration, boundary conditions, fluid, electrical, and software schematics, and concept of operations
Design, modify, and build mechanical systems. Systems include small lugs and brackets through large structural weldments
Design, modify, build, and troubleshoot fluid systems, including low to high pressure gaseous working fluids, rocket propellants (including cryogenic propellants), and hydraulic load control systems
Design, modify, build, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control systems, wiring, and instrumentation. DAQ systems are primarily NI based and instruments include strain gages, pressure transducers, deflection gages, load cells, thermocouples, and RTDs
Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, configuration files, and software
Operate the test stand from test assembly and activation through test execution with a small team of engineers and technicians
Review data manually or using automatic scripts
Provide daily direction and instruction to technicians to integrate test articles and hardware (install instrumentation and wiring, assemble small and large mechanical components, repair metallic structures, pressurize and functional check of pressure systems, lift and transport large structures)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field
1+ years experience with testing, mechanical or data acquisition and control system design (internships and college competition experience is applicable)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong technical skills in one or more of the following areas: mechanical or structural design, data acquisition and instrumentation, programming, fluid and hydraulic design or operation, structural testing

NDE INSPECTOR, CWI - 3RD SHIFT
A Certified Weld Specialist position at SpaceX sits within the quality control network supporting production as part of the NDE organization within Materials Engineering department. The NDE function is organized within focused production area cells alongside the production activities utilizing multiple and varied inspection methods to efficiently provide quality control and protect product reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform internal and external inspections to determine if a weldments meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document
Interpret codes and specifications in accordance with the drawing requirements
Use a computer to compile and submit data of acceptance or rejection of weld quality, as well as for inter-office communications
Recommend and approve repairs as well as perform visual inspection of work in progress and completed work
Monitoring welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, and shielded metal arc welding, and plasma arc welding and assuring they are performed in accordance with qualified procedures
Verify and document welder qualifications
Verify the compliance of base metals with the applicable specifications
Appraise welding joint designs and joint preparations for compliance with drawing
Verify proper fit, cleanliness, and environmental conditions
Verify tack weld quality
Verify preheat and interpass temperatures
Assure the proper control and handling of welding consumables
Verify the interpass and final cleaning

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Maintenance technicians at the Rocket Development Facility work in a fast-paced testing environment, where the extraordinary becomes the everyday. The maintenance technician will be involved in all aspects of component and systems maintenance. They will utilize all tools at their disposal to ensure the reliability of rocket development and production test stands. This will involve corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance techniques as well as operational and design feedback for maintaining and improving all systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and repair ground support equipment on test stands and facilities systems including fluid, structural, and mechanical systems
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hardware associated with rocket test stand systems
Maintain structural/mechanical systems and related components such as rollers, bearings, rams, etc.
Collaborate with design and test engineers to maintain systems in peak operating condition, provide operational feedback, and promote continual improvement
Develop novel methods to streamline processes site-wide to increase reliability of internal processes
Follow all regulations and appropriate SpaceX procedures including quality policies, safety policies, OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, NFPA, ASME, NEC and other standards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical, cryogenics, high pressure, or data systems
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of maintenance technician experience
Strong familiarity with plumbing, instrumentation, and electrical schematics/diagrams
Formal experience working in a fast-paced production environment with power generation, oil and gas, aerospace, automotive, or electronics production

SECURITY COORDINATOR
The Security Coordinator provides the critical first impression of the organization and its security requirements for employees, customers, vendors, and guests at each of its facilities. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SPECIALIST (STARSHIP)
